I’ve recently cut down to sub-10% bodyfat for the first time in my life and I’d like to maintain it without eating the typical 6-7 small meals frequently which I hate as an eating style (for the record, that is how I did my cut though). Pulse Feast seems to fit the bill here and I have a few questions if you have time to answer.
Would you change the original protocol in some manner considering it was published 4 years ago? I seem to remember you doing a version of it with more frequent pulses at some point.
Apparently the MAG-10 labels and dosages have changed since the article originally ran. What dosages should I use now?
Let’s say I start my first feast meal with protein and veggies and end it with carbs and maybe some dessert. If I’m hungry and have time for a second meal, how much freedom do I have in food choices during that second meal? Should I stick to completely clean foods or do the same rules apply as for the first meal?
Also had the same questions about that too, and with that pulsing the key is 18 hours of fasting with MAG-10? and ONLY eating in the 6 hours window? Or would be be OK to eat clean in the 18 hour range (Prob not, but just asking)

I’ve experimented with more frequent pulses or larger ones. To be honest didn’t notice a difference. I liked the more frequent pulses only because I make MAG-10 slurpies out of my MAG-10 and it felts good to have more of them! But honestly the original schedule will work.

Minor differences, many a bit more carbs, which ain’t bad since it will give you a more stable glycemia and it’s a type of carbs that actually help with fat mobilization. I wouldn’t change the original plan.

Same rule applies. I’d try to keep it as clean as possible, but it wont kill your progress if you have something “less than ideal” once in a while. Don’t gorge yourself though. You should feel full and satisfied but not stuffed/uncomfortable.

Yes that’s the key. It’s a form of intermittent fasting. So no eating outside the 6 hours window.
Thank you for answering my questions! I’m certainly going to give pulse feasting a good long term shot to see how it works for me.
If I may ask one more question, what is the realistic potential for muscle growth with this type of eating plan? I’m confident I’ll remain relatively lean which is the #1 goal here, but after all who doesn’t want muscle growth.

I’d like to tell you that you will be able to add a significant amount of muscle, but honestly (from a lot of experience) you wont. You might be able to progress slightly but a big gain is pretty much to be ruled out.

This might be overlooked seeing as the last post was a year ago. I am going to begin the Pulse Feast, any updates?
CT, I thought the purpose of the Pulse Feast was to gain muscle while losing fat? Will I not see much improvement during this period of the Pulse Feast?
If multiple Pulses (every 2-3 hrs) are no different than taking 2-3 for a whole day, then taking them more frequently might help get one through a day when hungry even if it’s more expensive?
You actually don’t want a constant level of blood amino acids, you actually lose the anabolic stimulating of the pulses that way and you risk decreasing your ody’s sensitivity to protein. You need periods of peaks and valleys when it comes to blood amino acid levels, at least if you are natural.
Thanks CT for your response. After reading the forums extensively the process has definitely been evolving and it got a little confusing as to the best approach.
I’ll just follow the two pulses a day.
Still ok to take fish oils, multi-vitamins w/ MCT oil, vitamin d, etc… on Mag-10?
Fish oil is fine within reason (6 caps of FLAMEOUT for example). Vitamin D or any other vitamin is okay but NOT MCT oil as it acts much like carbs to give fast energy and will likely screw up the fasting portion.
Thanks CT. Gotta take it to the next level. Four years ago started at 375, was 252 April 2016. Cut out excessive cardio, focused on weights, protein, and nutrition. Currently 263, constantly going up in weights. Want to cut down to 220. I think this will do it.
