25 grad students with their heads up their asses is not a “racial divide” and it doesn’t merit any warnings.

Search around and you’ll find stupid people of every color, religion, sex, and age getting together and doing stupid things in every corner of this country.

Now, if the professor were fired or something, then this would be a different story. But as it is, it’s just a bunch of fatuous clowns acting out.
if nothing else you would have to agree that you do not see these stories on national news do you?

DID I SAY ALL BLACKS? of course not all blacks.

but you do not see these stories on national news do you?

i’m sorry smh, i don’t have a graph with an approved university tenured professor stating we have a racial divide that is off the radar.

again though, you do not see these stories on national news do you? why is that?

why doesn’t the frog jump out of the pan of water instead of waiting until it’s to late and is already boiling?

…young people. most never learn until it’s too late.

Perhaps because most people are smart enough to not get all “sky is falling” about them?
You don’t get it! A few students complaining about a professor should be national news. Why isn’t Obama doing something about it or at least talking about it? Huh? Well? You sheep have gone from having your heads in the clouds to having them in the sand.
conservativedog wrote:

I do agree. In the present case, that is because, as I said, “25 Grad Students Have Heads Up Own Asses” is not worthy of national attention. It isn’t a news story. If it were the Congressional Black Caucus who was behind all this, then maybe things would be different, but this is not serious news. As I intimated earlier, I can think of dozens of things done by white kids I knew when I was in undergrad/grad school that would warrant a write-up by the NYT before this would.

It just isn’t interesting to anyone that a couple dozen people out there are fatuous clowns. You think similarly ridiculous shit done by white people can’t be dug up at Ole Miss or Penn State or anywhere else on the planet? How about Bob Jones?

It’s all about forum ratings. Who wants to talk about stupid things white people do?
zecarlo wrote:

Well, to be fair, we do…

But if we were to outline them all, even those as insignificant as this story… We’d use up all the internet’s bandwidth.

I’ll go first:

The other day, on a train full of white midtowners, a very old woman boarded and none of the balding miserable fucks who were sitting down offered her a seat. She was still standing when I arrived at my stop.

Why wasn’t this on the news? Surely it is a greater affront to decency to force an octogenarian to stand so that you can remain seated than it is to whine about a professor who corrected a black kid’s grammar. Why was my experience not detailed in full on the front page of the WSJ this morning?

***************** TO SOME OF YOU. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE ************

gee i guess i never considered that.

i also forgot to consider where i was. the pwi forum where six or seven of you suck each other off every day and insinuate that others aren’t “smart enough” because your news information source didn’t consider my story news.

i guess the sky wasn’t falling before stalin killed between 20 and 60 million of his own people.

i guess the sky wasn’t falling leading up to the holocaust.

a president assures americans that if it weren’t for fox news the nsa collecting almost 5 billion cell phone records a day, the irs giving itself millions in bonuses after it’s nazi tactics with the right, and lying to cover up not protecting our u.s. embassies from muslim murderers, would never have crossed anyone’s mind is pretty close to the sky is falling.

if it isn’t then a president that notifies americans that he will do what- ever he can without legislation; just a pen and a phone is the sky about to fall.

i won’t even begin to parallel the tsa tactics with nazi tactics.

now feel free to go about your esoteric conversations while stopping in to shit on mine.

You can’t seriously be comparing paper grading and a handful of dumbass Californians to the atrocities listed above, can you?

They are from California right? WTF did you expect?

I just wanted to give my two cents. Keep in mind I am not from the US and thus my insight is not nescissarily great in terms of internal US racial relations and the atmosphere surrounding it.

However I think here where I live our most open and horrible racism is directed at two groups. Gypsies and Pakistani/muslim people.

When you look at a lot of the claims of racism as a white guy most seem completely unfounded and ridiculous, like this paper incident. But I think that the same happens with muslims here and I think the reality is because of the constant judging and veiled hostility muslims here face anything a white person does becomes a slight in some peoples eyes because of their lived experience.

If you deal with whispers on the train, you deal with people shouting paki and terrorist at you walking home. You feel completely ostracised in your school and the country you live in has a history of firebombing your houses and posting shit through your letter boxes or blowing up your churches in the case of black people in America and enslaving your ancestors.

This persecution only really ending in the late 1960s and your race is only beginning to break through to legitimate occupations and respected places in society in the last 20 years, don’t you think you might be a bit sensitive in how you perceive white peoples actions?

Especially when you know in the past people have been racist to you and denied it and got off. People either go insanely PC or they sound like jim crow, because our emotional investment in our stances are so ingrained.

Unless we were there we do not know what happened and what sort of atmosphere was lingering. All I know is I have heard so many white people who claim to be not racism act incredibly racist when no minorities were around. So when you get this kind of smoke a lot of the time there is fire.

Also black people do seem to jump to defend or fight perceived injustice because the last two generations are really the only boac generation in America that didn’t get taught from an early age to hide masculinity and to hide cockiness and bravado in case a bunch of white people took offence and hung them by the neck from the poplar trees.

Just like My countrymen were once roman slaves, we then rose to be the most violent and bravado swaggering island on the planet. When people as a race emerge from subjugation they typically embrace the mannerisms we consider man like and brave, this is done to relaunch internal feelings of pride and make people acknowledge you as a man deserve respect.

If I was a black man in the U.S I would be fucking white women and acting like the militant black guy. Franz cannon talks about the mental health of a colonised and oppressed people and I think that his analysis works just as much for black Americans as it does for colonised algerians.

some of you are so caught up in how smart you are or how dumb i must be that you just see a sliver of what you write about. here, all you get out of what i wrote is that i’m comparing a professor grading papers with the holocaust? brilliant. just brilliant.

how about you put me on ignore if you don’t get it. is that simple enough bean? and thanks for apologizing about how you characterized my post. surely i took something out of context or omitted something is what you wrote.

past posts all greeted the same way, yet they are all true. i took nothing out of context or omitted facts in any of them. racism or they don’t matter is what you wrote indicating i’m an imbecile.

instead bury your heads in important issues like the claim that women are being paid less than men. (bean and many others failed to see through that fictional piece, but i’m sure you don’t care or want to hear how)

i illustrate how we as americans have to be careful to watch slowly changing trends, not just the sudden changes. it’s a warning to keep us paying attention not just to obvious threats but to more slowly developing ones.

if you don’t like that, live and let live. in other words just pass on my threads.

Do you deny on average women are paid less than equally qualified men and work more hours for less pay?

Because this is so and its not really a debate because there are facts and statistics to back that up.

Now wether or not those statistics are examples of patriarchy and suppression or are a result of something else is something that I would love to see debated. But that women are paid less for the same pay is not really a deniable thing.

Ummm… That isn’t “all I got out of it”. Nice assumption though.

I was simply curious if you honestly thought pointing out some wac-a-doodles in California acting like Californians was really comparable to the Holocaust. Because, well they aren’t. And you pointing out wac-a-doodle behavior isn’t the equivalent of someone taking out Hitler before his crest to power.

I get this whole black v white thing is important to you, I really do. I think you’re in left field on it, and hurt more than you help, but I don’t really assume much about you outside of you seem a tad bit obsessed.

I’m an adult, this is the internet. I don’t need an ignore function.

Yeah, I assumed you made a mistake. Not necessarily on purpose, but yes. The basis of the story (still does really) seemed to asinine to actually be real, let alone as you described it.

Turns out you didn’t make a mistake. And there are loony people in California.

If you took it that way, that is on you. That in your own self image issue projected on me. I didn’t indicate anything of the sort other than I didn’t think the truth as it was presented.

Not sure where you came up with this gem. I’ve made quite clear my understanding that the wage scale differences aren’t based on gender discrimination, and are more often than not due to life choices and physical differences more than anything.

Sure… I mean, 12% of the population is going to suddenly take over the world and put whitey in the fields some day…

Yeah. Sounds about right… lol

It isn’t even a debate. Anyone that claims it is any other factors outside of choices and physical differences (in specific cases) isn’t looking at enough data, or is bias.

Well anything is a debate, though I am inclined to agree with you. Saying something isn’t a debate puts so much conformation bias on your shoulders and will generally box you into a position. Anything can be debated. Whether or not the persons point is valid does not mean debate is pointless or that I am right just because I view the data set in one way.

We all have bias and anyone who crouches theirs in “this is not a debate” terminology really needs to redress their analysis and decide wether or not they have let emotion rather than material analysis dictate what end of the spectrum they stand.
Pj92x wrote:

No not really. If you’re done with your inaccurate personal assessment of me feel free to look at the data yourself.

When you find data that shows it is discrimination, and not life choices, I’ll point you to Sowell’s work first of to refute it, and then the countless other analysis that show that discrimination is so far down the rung of explanations, the narrative that it is majority causational is weak enough to not waste time talking about.

Check the end of the feminism thread, Powerpuff posted a couple pieces on it, and I did as well.

So women are not discriminated against in the work place and it is all because of personal choice?

Seeing as women on average get better grades, how are the numbers so schemed. Lets be honest. You are pretty biased on this subject ha!

You can’t show data to prove people are racist, thats because you can only document phenomena that is documentable. If I say I am not racist and in my home I call black people niggers but I answered a gallop pole on race and sai differently, guess what. I am not a racist.

The idea that women are paid less due to choices or physical differences is absurd. My mother has a degree and works as an accountant for a firm. The guy she now works with has less qualifications that her, less experience and earns five thousand more a year, he infact earns more than the three women accountants at the company branches something which they are all pissed about and are taking it up with the boss and if nothing is done leaving to fond other employment.

I have never met anyone who thinks women are not discriminated against at work. And I have seen pay gaps where men who are less qualified and less experienced earn more. How are you not seeing what pretty much everyone who works has seen or experienced? Also you seem to ignore all the statistics and instead just state no discrimination is taking place. Yet if those pay gaps were the other way round, I think you would be yelling discrimination.
