This isn’t new. I remember hearing on the radio a few years ago about pro-anorexia websites where they would sell bracelets so that you could identify others (like you’d need a bracelet to tell!!!)
Like X said, I remember seeing 2 women at 2 different gyms I worked at who would be on the cardio machines for hours and hours and they looked AWFUL but they would be in there 7 days a week hitting the cardio machines. I know they had a problem, they know they had a problem. The question is what can you as an outsider do for them? Nothing.

Like was already written, the same goes for ALL professional sports. There is a reason many older football players can barely walk on their own, if they can walk at all. That fame and glory is fleeting once you get too beat up to reach your own peak levels. People also completely accept this from every other sport or activity.
Does anyone here think pro boxing is a “safe” activity?
Then why do people pay big money for it?
Heh… my roommate worked at a nice hotel in Austin last summer as a bellhop. One of the highlights of his experience was showing Earl Campbell to his room (and apparently getting a nice tip). Earl Campbell was in a wheelchair.
I’ve been following some of their posts, and I really do think the fatties could learn a lot from these skinny little tarts.
They were talking about strategies about how to avoid eating all the food when they visit their grandma’s house. As opposed to fatties, who scheme how to rationalize eating their grandma out of house and home.

Seriously? I’d rather be a towering fatty than all cock and ribs.
I suppose on some level they could learn from each other, but they’re both states of excess. The only difference is that a very tiny fraction of the fatties need professional help, as opposed to a slap in the face. The ones on that site (for the most part) need some serious help.
They should be learning to eat what’s needed to sustain their bodies.

I really don’t see how they are able to hide this from their parents.
This is why I also take offense to people relating bodybuilding to this insanity.
Hyper-awareness of diet,
Frequent, intense exercise,
Hiding the habit from close friends (okay, this one’s a bit of a stretch, but a common reason for these forums is that regular people don’t ‘get it’, why we lift)
I was reading the ‘Diary of a Juicer’ article series, in a number of articles the writer draws connection between anorexics and bodybuilders. ‘Body Dismorphia’, I believe it’s called, where you’re never ___ enough.
I think there is an uncomfortable degree of fair comparison.
…to be honest, if i had seen the video of me shot a few months before i decided to go on a cycle, which exacerbated a [probably] congenital auto immune disease causing liver failure, because i felt what i saw in the mirror wasn’t quite big enough, i would not have done gear. This is far from as extreme as anorexic’s take it, but the mechanism is the same…
I just saw a friend of mine (female) whom I had not seen in 3 year. She used to be thin but had curves, now she has nothing. I am trying to ask her “What Happened?” but I am sure how to do that.
Maybe I’ll act dumb and ask her if she was sick or something.
I am with those who would hit that 14!
The 12 is Ok, but I would rather she bulk to 13.
The 8 is a no-go. I don’t like bones.
For those who like the 8.
U need to go to Bongos Caffe in Maimi at 12am when the dancing starts.
Im a high school teacher and I sometimes hear about girls throwing up in the bathroom, etc. You never know exactly who or when so its hard to “report” it to parents but its just sad that it goes on. They start at 15,16 years old and set a pattern. Sad way to live.
I also hate when people compare this shit to training or body building, etc. Where the hell does it say that anorexia is healthy?? I mean its one thing if you’re in survival mode on some remote island and you need to ration but this is different.
That pro-anorexia site is full of people with image disorders and mental problems…not sites like this. Lame comparison IMO.
I feel sorry for them, in the way I don’t for obese people. Obviously some are attention whores, but knowing people who have been anorexic I can say it’s a mental disorder. It’s not just girls being silly.
“my bf and i have been having the biggest problems lately :[
or at least, now my ex bf
i broke up with him today, because he just doesn’t make me happy.
he says that he tries, but ya, ok i admit that he does, but it trully just doesn’t complete me.”
Can you say…PSYCHO!!!
This one girl on here super fine, check this girl out.

Sadly, it is that popular. No one listens to guys anymore. It’s not like we push for exposed ribcages and no tits.
There was a magazine in Australia that did a survey among men (online) to find out the ideal size. They chose between 8, 12 & 14. Of course they picked 12.
This has been bothering me for a few days and I finally remembered to look it up.
The sizings named above around Australian dress sizes so in American terms you’d subtract 2 from each number. Although I still think this number is wrong because I’ve known 6’s, 10’s and 12’s and they didn’t look like the pictures above! Just judging from the pics themselves in US terms I’d say they are closer to 4, 6/8 and 10.
I would like to chime in w a vote for the 8.
The other girls are too big for my tastes.
The 12 is ok from waist up but her knees/thighs etc are way too big and just forget the 14.
Never.
I struggle w weight a bit (though I keep it off) and am a Male. I think if you have struggled w fat issues you are often turned off by it. If you hate it in yourself, you certainly won’t find it acceptable or attractive in a mate.

Her thighs are big? Are you shaped like a lightbulb? I can’t see how we can possibly be looking at the same girl. Do you even see the same colors I do?
Someone above alluded to the 14 having rolls and stuff that would bust out. I don’t know what kind of girls you guys have gotten with in the past, but I can say I’ve done way worse, and there are no rolls on that girl. She’s soft, yes and I bet there’s lot’s of jiggle to her in the sack, but she’s not fat.
For the record, I’d hit any of those chicks, but the skinny one is the worst of both worlds, no fat or curves and no muscle. Her thighs are gross.
All of those girls need a steady diet of box squats and deadlifts to bring up the wheels.
I used to suffer from (slightly milder) anorexia only about 1.5 years ago. I was about 115-120 lbs at a height of 6’5. I didn’t get any help or anything, actually, I stumbled across T-Nation, read about nutrition and so on, and I started seeing how I was wrong. I now weigh ~185lbs at the same height.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me anything you might wonder.
Haha, what a first post. I’ll be back in a couple of hours.

Can you give us some insight into why these girls think they’re overweight when a simple look in the mirror shows otherwise?

This is interesting. I would describe myself pretty similarly, but I tend to fluctuate in weight more and have never been truly lean, like lower abs lean as Shugart would say. and i think it influences my taste in women. i think that is why as far as the study goes, i prefer the 12 the most, but would bang the 8 before the 14.
i’d also like to add that is the best looking 14 i have ever seen, and i dont mean the face, she carries the weight damn well for her size, most of them do not look like that.
