Yes. If the resources allow, I think everything that helps the root causes of crime is a good thing.
Some are beyond help of course.

Yeah. Of course we can. We can do all sorts of things. Torture? Slavery? Rape as a punishment? None of these are impossible to do.
The phrasing should go: We can’t do most of these things without breaking Human rights. Human rights or human value are nothing but an agreement, a deal. But if we follow them, we can’t do certain things.
I personally stay behind them, since overall they make this world much more tolerable place to be.

I’m not into any of these for prisoners.
We take away the rights of convicts just by locking them up. And many of them have no compunction about destroying others’ lives. I don’t say this to argue, but I don’t see how the most disgusting criminals have “human value”.

Prison should be constructed, funded, staffed and have more people in it.
In Maine the whole system has been shifting towards rehabilitation and away from public safety, all while we spend insane amounts of money on importing new voters, who seem to bring a penchant for gun violence to my town.

So by making it nicer and more fun, they will become institutionalized to good food, buttsex and fireworks.
So instead of getting out into the free world and being institutionalized to a cold and hostile environment, they’re ready for the 4th of July!.

Everyone probably does to some extent. But I was referring specifically to what you mentioned about stocks and pillory. Wondering if public humiliation like that would have more of an impact than the privacy criminals experience now.

I’ve actually lived on bread for days when I was very poor.
I recall about the lowest times I was eating a can of red kidney beans mixed with pasta and bread.
So maybe beans can be added!!!
I did that for months. I went from 180# to 155# and was still lifting.
Sitting in a cell, not working, quality bread is all that’s needed.
Allegheny County jail had The Best cake, bar none. Light & moist, the icing was awesome, and the portion was great (big!).
Nothing like a nice piece of cake for desert after a long day of talking shit, doing pushups, and sleeping a good bit.

I don’t know, I’ve never been to prison. Just jail awaiting bond & whatnot.
There were certain people that would put kool-aid powder on their lips and cheeks to get all pretty though.
