Hey Dave,
What % concentration of “active ingredient” (EPA+DHA) do you look for in a FO supplement? Just curious about your preference.

Doc Lonman, literally every brand of fish oil cap I have seen has been 180:120mg EPA:DHA per gram of oil. Even the funky tasting enteric coated caps claim this.

P.S Are concentrated or more omega 3’s better for you?

GL, I’m still having trouble with the whole “more concentrated” issue. I’m not saying that it’s bs, but I don’t think enough research has been done to say how this is done, or who does it etc.
I mean, my enteric caps claimed the standard dose of EPA and DHA, but according to your brand, they should have a higher concentration.
As long as it’s not cost prohibitive, right now I’d keep using them and get your ~3g of omega 3’s per day.
I did the George Brown College Fitness and Lifestyle Managment Program in Toronto. I want to pusue a carrer in exercise science, but can’t fin much about schools with good programs in Ontario (Toronto would be best). I think York, offers one, but is there any others?
I eat. A lot. I’ve always been on the bigger side and eating has always been easy.
However, for about the last month, I’ve found that it is getting harder to eat what I normally would. I still get hungry, but 10 mouthfuls in and it’s like I’m still full from a meal I had 3 hours ago. This isn’t normal.
Any ideas on how to speed up digestion (or if that is even the problem)?

jcharles, York has the only such program (that I am aware of) in TO. Of course I’m biased, but the Kin program at UW is top notch.
Another suggestion I have is to ensure that the program tailors itself to your ultimate goal. Exercise science is now broad enough to encompass everything from molecular biology to health studies.

Massif, any major lifestyle changes or novel stresses in your life?
You couldn’t have come to a better person with this question, because I have natural propensity to consume 1500 Cal/day!
I’m all over liquid meals (blenders are great for “pre-digesting” food).
Snacking is also important, so you don’t get completely full, and can eat again in a few hours.
As a preview of the upcoming article, jack up your nutrient density so you’re consuming more Calories for a smaller volume of food.
How goes the development of the new business, will it be up and running soon? Facing any challenges? What services will be offered and will you be partnering with other service providers?

Bob, the challenges I am facing setting up this business exemplify why I did not continue in Galveston. I’ve been stuck in a lab for so long, that learning a completely new field (or three) is really exciting!
I’m not just learning about business, but also the subtle differences of e-business, along with web site development. I’ve set up a Geocities web site before, but doing a business web site is 1000X more difficult (surprise!). But I have to add that it’s a blast.
For the initial launch I’ll have consultation services set up, along with program design (with several options).
Because I enjoy writing about supplements and nutrition, people may forget that I’m also a strength coach.
