Have no clue, but I do know that in day to day events, being prejudice and hating Catholics is perfectly politically correct and acceptable.

Brother Chris,

Why would you say that about Tirib? I have never seen him ever say anything bad about you, or anyone else for that matter, yet you presume to judge him? Niiiiiiice.

Why is it that the biggest Bible thumpers are the ones who are the last to actually follow it?

Chris, shuffling priests around is not my idea of handling pedophiles. A lock and sock is what I call my way of handling it, if you need to know what that means, ask AC.
Where did I judge Tirib?

And, while we are at it, why don’t you show me the passages about judging. As a Catholic, I don’t read the Bible and surely don’t follow the book, so please inform me.

That statement was made in a recent interview with the Pope (in whole, the book is of his private opinions and story telling). And, my personal opinion (which I came about in part with tirib’s help) about the pigs, is to hang 'em all.

And, by the way. I can feel the anti-Catholicism in your message just oozing out. I’m not a psychologist, but I will bet that there is something besides theology that you don’t like about the Catholic Church, something person. I like you, and for our T-Nation friendship’s sake you should probably come out with it. In PM or on here, doesn’t matter.

Catholics have gotten more grief, and it was justified, but sweet baby Jesus, stop trying to pretend you guys are treated like dirt. The religious right up until Bush left officer ruled the United States of America - the most powerful country in the world (despite what other people might say, it’s still the big kahuna).

You are not downtrodden, you are not in the fashion of old testament Jews. Stop trying to be.

The grief that you get is from the whole “hey let’s not tell people about how we shuffle pedophiles around to fresh pastures” shtick. Everything else you perceive as an attack on Catholicism is in fact something EVERY religious person is beginning to experience.

You are not a special snowflake, you are not unique.

Justified, how? Anti-Catholicism has been going on since people from Europe came over to America. There was no abuse scandal then. How? When protestant churches are guilty of the same thing, and married fathers have an even higher rate of it than clergyman?

Never said I was a special. I said in America there is a deep rooted anti-Catholicism or prejudice towards Catholics (whatever you want to call it). It has been been here since this country was founded. The Catholic Church’s current sins are only another excuse to be prejudice towards Catholics.

And, why don’t people and the media have moral outrage towards those who do it more than Catholics? You know who does though?

Catholics, even though we have fuck ups in our own Church, as a Church we still care about those in need, all of them.

Get over it, and stop being a hater. It’s not good for the mind.

Don’t make such a big deal about it. I’d be worried if it wasn’t the case.

I suppose.

Luke 6:26
Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for their fathers used to treat the false prophets in the same way.
Brother Chris wrote:
<<< And, why don’t people and the media have moral outrage towards those who do it more than Catholics? >>>
Here’s a clue. Nobody else claims to be “the one true most holy and apostolic church”. No one else is headquartered in an obscenely opulent palace/city state with a leader claiming to be the “vicar of Christ” that appears in public in a bullet proof cage. (yeah, like Jesus might do that). No one else has a llllllooooonnnnnggggg, like centuries and centuries, history of ultra high level corruption and abuse of power.

You are not an idiot. The screaming irony of exalting celibacy on one hand and protecting pedophiles (read itself) on the other is not lost on people. They see a colossal filthy rich humongous organization making exclusive claims on the divine, but then covering up abuse of the most horrific variety. Wadda ya want folks to think?

This perversion is horrible no matter who does it, but the RCC has painted the target on itself.

If I had an assassination attempt on me, I’d use a bullet proof cage, too.

Centuries? I’m not saying there weren’t corrupt people in the Church, but the Church (as I know it) is not corrupt.

Yes, bad times. However, one good thing with bad times is that extraordinary saints rise up when there corrupt people in the Church. However, I wouldn’t wish corruptness just for saints.

So, you’re saying the Pope shouldn’t have self defense?

No, more like St. Augustine (against schismatic sects, like the Maniches) and St. Francis of Assisi (against the Pope), Calvin and Luther were schismatic egotistical protesters. No, just in matters of truth. And, I’m in the great state of Arizona.

Nothing like the land of the outlaw.

Again, no dog in this fight at all, but I spent the first 35 years of my life in the US, and still visit at least annually, and this is NEWS to me.

I think you’re confusing deserved criticism for “prejudice.”
Ever been kicked out of someone’s house because you were Catholic? Ever had someone yell at you at the top of their lungs, and be called the Satan’s spawn or be called the child of the Whore of Babylon? Ever had jewelry ripped off your neck and had someone spit in your face? Ever lose friends once they find out your Catholic?

I admit that I’m dealing with radical people here, but still who else gets this treatment this day an age? I feel like I was a Sunni Muslim and I just turned Shiite in my old house hold.

I deal with criticism just fine, but people treating me like dirt is what I call prejudice.

Well Chris, if it makes you feel any better I’d have you in my house any time and you could wear all the ridiculous superstitious jewelry you like.

I’m sorry man, but seriously. That kind of personal treatment is definitely not Christ like behavior and I would never treat you like that. Near as I can tell I actually like you a lot and your discipline for study is astonishing to say the least. I confess that I vastly underestimated you when we first started talking here.

It’s fine their lot has been cast, and they have been dealt with accordingly. I ain’t mad.

I assume by those questions that you have been treated that way. Did you rejoice?

Yes, I’m slow to anger. I laughed in a few of the situations, even though I do not appreciate disrespect and more than a few of those led to physical altercations.
