Hillary speaking now, the look on her face shows how bad she is tore up inside. Have to give her credit for trying to put a smile on her face.
Well, the only point about this I disagree with is change “couldn’t” to “didn’t”.
And I blame the elitist attitude of “I know better and everyone who disagrees is a racist”.
Had I seen a single instance of substantive rebuttal of The Cheeto outside of this website, and a smaller group I frequent, I suspect last night would have been different. But the singular “he’s a racist, and bully and a xenophobe” and all the other lefty buzzwords were all I saw. And just like Brexit… People have finally started to see through that garbage.
My recommendation to the Democrats is eat some humble pie, like the GOP has done since 08 (outside of midterms), come up with some talent that isn’t Commie Lite (which is all they have right now) and get over the idea of a “dynasty”.
Bam said this was a referendum on his legacy, and guess what, the fucking Rust Belt, PENN & WISCONSIN flipped against him… It’s over for the Obamas and Clintons and Bushes. Thank Christ. The Dem’s need to come to terms with that.
As for people leaving… Hard for me to comment as I went MIA for months due to work myself…
But man, its going to suck around here I think.
Dems were put in time out, just like the GOP was in 2008. I didn’t see 2008 as the Republican implosion as many claimed, it was a big fat time out. Dems must do the same, the have to see where they missed the pulse of the people, and move forward with someone not so shrouded in mystery and controversy.
The GOP tried to eat humble pie and come up with a winning strategy this election cycle.
It failed miserably and gave them Trump.
I think the biggest question here is just how many people who haven’t voted in… well, decades, came out and voted this election.
The fact that ~50-60% of the people vote in a given year ALWAYS bothered me.
I always wondered why don’t those other people vote, and if they do who and what values will they vote for?
I think I got an inkling of an answer yesterday.
And I think everyone needs to try to be more understanding of them.
Haha
I thought your bet was to write an essay
I wouldn’t doubt if T Nation are smiling though.
It is a bit of a tangential forum for this site
I’d say that swing between “people who normally vote staying home” and “people who don’t finally coming out” isn’t that big.
You’re getting into “silent republican majority” territory, which the right has invoked since Birch. It’s just not true.
Trump out did Romany in key Democrat demographics, and beat her in independents in important states… That’s all. Same basic subset of voters (45% vote r no matter whos on the ticket, 47% vote d, and the 8% who bounce back and forth…)
She didn’t have the gaps she needed in Urban areas… It’s that simple. [quote=“magick, post:166, topic:223006”]

Please go on here man.
Not that anyone cares anymore, but the Russians just admitted the DNC hack. Putin’s aide Sergey Glazyev said on Rossiya 1 TV channel that he expects immediate lifting of sanctions once Trump takes office as a quid-pro-quo for “that little help with Wikileaks and that other thing” (wry grin from Glazyev)
Isn’t this treason?
Latinos voted for Trump in higher numbers than they did Romney. And Trumps share of the Black vote was higher than the last two elections. Proving that the experts are not such experts
“Treason” you might want to look that word up
Also I think you guys are little behind on this
WikiLeaks Founder: Russian Government Is Not Our 'Source' - ABC News
Was there even more people who voted this time? How many votes are still not counted yet? I could be wrong but it looks like there needs to be at least 5 million more votes on the total to reach the Obama/Romney popular vote numbers. Plus any added population increase there needs to be quite a bit more to say less people stayed at home.
@smh_23 , @anon50325502 ,
Man that sucks.
I’ve just directly quoted a top Putin aide who said they helped Trump with Wikileaks, from an interview on Russian TV a couple of hours ago.
What a shame. Both of you bring some good things to this forum.
@smh_23 - I don’t know what the bet was about, but you will certainly be missed if you step back. I have appreciated your posts so much. You’re one of the more insightful people here, and you bring a knowledge of foreign affairs and policy that really elevates the forum. Sincerely. We need people to argue both sides with passion and intelligence.
@anon50325502 - What a shame. I’ll miss you here! You have a head for numbers and fiscal policies, and the tax system and all that math-related stuff that I just have such a hard time getting my head around. I so often find your posts interesting, and insightful. I’ve so enjoyed talking politics with you. My best to you and you’re little family. I may have to lurk your training log so see how your pullups and Oly lifts are coming along.
I did, and this falls under item 2.
Sorry but one someone doing something for you without you even knowing about it. That is never treason. Two the Russians did not do it according to wiki leaks. And three when you claim an act of treason, you need to use the actual legal definition of the word and not a secondary meaning.
And you take that over the actual source of the leaks? Wiki leaks being the only souse that knows who gave it to them
