I’ve been trading during elections since 2000 and this is the first time I’ve seen US equity markets rally as the Democrat nominee improves in the polls and break as the Republican nominee does the same.

It’s almost as if markets don’t like a candidate who openly proposes policies that will bring economic ruin and Constitutional crisis upon the world’s most powerful country.

Final prediction is that Trump performs better than Romney, but only by 10-20 EC votes. Hilary takes the popular vote by around 3%.

Trump moves into Trump TV and him and his cronies takes a tea-party-esque role in future elections. 4 years from now they find a new figure head (perhaps Trump’s son) who, with less gaffes, wins the primaries again.

That is a very specific prediction! I could totally see Trump doing a TV channel. Ugh…

Word on the street is that this has been the back up plan for months. But we’ll see. My other predictions could be completely wrong. Trump could lose by significantly more, or win by a landslide. Who the hell knows at this point other than the writers of tomorrow’s paper?

Trump will lose in a Dukakis-esque but not quite Mondale-ian landslide.

The GOP establishment will close ranks to make sure no one but the ordained will ever get the nomination again. They’ll do so the same way the Chicago machine ensured the Daley’s stayed in power, by cutting the legs out from under any up-and-comers who could be a threat to the establishment in the future.

Hillary - a former Young Republican, Goldwater supporter, and daughter of a Conservative Republican - will be a much better President than most think. Her pragmatism and penchant for action will force Republicans to compromise with those across the aisle or risk being branded as Obstructionists and getting lambasted during the next mid-term elections.

Holy shit was I wrong. And not just a little, I was colossally wrong. It’s going to be an interesting 4 years.

Nope, me neither. I thought Trump would gain from the late-breaking FBI news, but not like this.

There is much teeth gnashing this morning, but Democrats have only themselves to blame. They have a near-impossible task of winning a third term, and who do they nominate (coronate)? One of the most unlikeable candidates, with truckloads of baggage, and beset with fresh new scandals.

Democrats now have to look in the mirror and admit we couldn’t even beat Donald Trump for the presidency.

Johnson was only a dual Never alternative in my view. His platform is unchanged from 4 years ago, and he totaled <1MM iirc.

I think McMullin sp? will get 300k votes, so the thought congress would pick is dreamweaver. Yeah just like the 70s song…

Some of the data is showing that blacks and Latinos didn’t show up for Hillary the way they did for Obama, and the rural white vote was huge for Trump. Independents also went for Trump.
