I liked it a lot. It seemed to get back to the original a bit with giving a little more insight in how the predators operate. Guess the new planet thing as opposed to a local jungle is what helped that along.[/quote]
Only how they “operate” in this movie is completely contradictory to how they operate in every other incarnation of the Predator franchise.

This is a direct sequel Predators, at least that’s what I’ve heard and read from the internet. So discount Predator 2. And you can absolutely discount AvP and AvP 2.

Even if that were the case, we know that a Predator is bigger, stronger, faster than us with far better technology and far superior hunting instincts and fighting skills, yet somehow a 5’5" 130lb Japanese dude kills a 7’ 300+lb Predator with a fucking samurai sword even though the Predators weapon is made of metal that’s 100x’s stronger than any metal available to humans? Right… Everything about this movie blew giant Rhino balls.

Predator 1 is unbeatable and this sequel proves it once again.
This new movie has too much inconsistencies, clichés…but still somewhat enjoyable if you’re bored.
I’d give it no more than 5.5/10
Predators was OK. So much like the original that it can almost be considered a knockoff with a less-talented cast.
If there was no original Predator, this movie would be fuckin awesome. But being as there was, and this one was almost identical in it’s plot devices, I’ll give it a B-.
Just reasserts my idea that NOTHING can ever touch the original.

I have to agree with this. There were some scenes that were almost identical. The whole samurai fight, the Russian losing his machine gun, and the main character fighting the predator in hand-to-hand while covered in mud were JUST like what happend in the first movie.

Sounds like they should have mixed it up a bit. Maybe have the Predator rip out Adrian Brody’s spinal column then skull fuck the severed head. That would have been original.
Guys, I can’t believe I’m about to say this but sigh, Whiteflash is dead right.
Saw it last night and was one of the biggest pieces of shit I’ve ever seen. Shitty CGI, shitty characters, (somehow) even shittier dialogue and a shitty script. The only dude even worth a mention is the Yakuza guy.
My gripes with this movie are endless. How dare they butcher the franchise even more. Only the second time I’ve ever been pissed off that I spent money on seeing a movie, and I got a student discount at that.(the first movie I regretted spending money on was The Love Guru. Yes, this is how bad Predators is.)
My ranking of the Predators movies is as follows:
Predator(10/10)
AvP(watchable if bored, 6/10)
… and I like to think all the others don’t exist.

The fact that only Whiteflash is slating this movie in this thread is a shameful indictment of the cinema going demographic. It is a truly awful movie and a stain on the Predator legacy. The premise promised so much and up to the 40 minute mark it was fairly enjoyable but enter Laurence Fishbourne and everything falls to shit.
So the guy has been hiding in an abandoned ship for ten seasons? He has been hiding in the biggest eyesore on the planet and yet we are supposed to believe the Predators couldnt find him???* The action was shoddy, fairly amateur and too heavily cut to even understand or engage, the plot ties up in the most absurd “hollywood” bow tie fashion and the Predators are frankly a bunch of pussies in this movie.
The first Predator worked on so many levels, tension, action, dark wit, and the ultimate monster in the dark…and of course Arnie. Adrien Brody??? Do me a fucking favour. 4 Predators in one movie?? Do me a fucking favour. Topher fucking Grace??? Oh fuck off.
