I went and had my pre first cycle blood work done and got my results back today. Come to find out I actually have low test. I was wondering if I should still go through with the cycle. Serum level is at 315. Fasted for 12 hours and drank only water in that time.
I was going to run 500mg Test E for 10 weeks, while having AI’s and PCT on hand. Current stats. 29 years old, 278 pounds, been lifting for about 3 years. Lost 75 pounds in the beginning and have been holding steady at current weight for about a year and a half. I’ve always noticed it was difficult for me to lose anymore weight, but I just assumed it was me just not putting in enough work. I would assume I’m somewhere around 28% body fat. Fairly active, train 5-6 days a week at about 1.5-2 hours a day with 15-30 minutes of cardio 3-4 days a week. I track macros, and even when counting, I still would have a hard time losing.
Anyways, just looking for some advice. Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Please go to the TRT forum and read these stickies:
advice for new guys
protocol for injections
things that damage your hormones
In the new guys sticky, there are links in the beginning of the opening post. Go to the HPTA restart thread.
Note that gaining fat can be a symptom of low thyroid function. Often caused by not using iodized salt.
You can check your overall thyroid function by taking oral body temperatures as per the thyroid basics sticky.
Don’t shrug this off!
You need these diagnostic labs:
TT
FT
E2
prolactin
LH/FSH
DHEA-S [not DHEA]
CBC
hematocrit
AST/ALT
fasting cholesterol
fasting glucose
A1C
TSH
fT3
fT4 [please not T3, T4]
AM cortisol [optional] - do at 8AM!
Don’t expect to find a useful TRT doc easily. There is a finding a TRT doc sticky too.
Better to get labs on your own and get them reviewed here first.
There are a few days of reading to get through and its a big learning curve.
Suggest that you open a thread on the TRT forum for your thread and do not spread your case across more than one thread.
Thanks for the help. I had the blood tests ran myself and I have the results, I’ll make a post in the TRT section. My goal started out wanting to be fit but started leaning towards powerlifting this year and was noticing some of my lifts were having a hard time progressing. I haven’t gained any weight since I’ve started lifting, just haven’t lost much regardless of my training and macro tracking.
