Thanks guys. Just got an update from the surgeon, the radio-oncologist confirmed there are no other tumors in my body, so thankfully there is only the one and it has not spread anywhere else.

Now that the worst appears to have passed, I can ask: Did you get a spinal tap and was it as excruciating an experience as it’s made out to be?
Yea Push, that’s about how I & my family felt when I got the call.
Cortes, not over yet, no spinal tap. Surgery for the biopsy is tomorrow at 7:30am EST. With the location they can’t just do a needle biopsy they have to do a laminectomy to remove the lamina File:Laminaarcusvertebrae.png - Wikipedia to get access to the cord to biopsy.
Anyone here have a laminectomy so I can figure out what to expect in regards to lifting?

Thank you guys for all your support! Getting discharged today! Woo Hoo! Had a rough day or two where my stomach was really distended causing more pain than the surgery site but got that all worked out and woken back up. Walked around a bunch yesterday and today. Got the cath removed today and passed fluid within two hours on my own.
Again thank you for your support i really appreciate it! Also will continue with updates when the biopsy comes back and the treatment plan.

Neurosurgeon check up yesterday, said I’m healing very well.
Oncologist appointment today, I have a grade 2 astrocytoma, will be doing 5 days a week for 5-6 weeks of radiation treatment, will start treatment 4-6 weeks from surgery date to let everything heal up. Thankfully U of Miami has a treatment center 10 minutes from my house and in the same office complex as my fiance’s business. So now it’s a CT scan for treatment planning and sperm bank as insurance. Will let you know when I start treatment.
