Powerlifting Max Bench Arch

I was done with this yesterday. But since you asked. As far as a deadlift? If I didn’t know hitching was allowed, I would think it was cheating.

I showed THE video to several people at the gym, all of them though it was cheating.

If you saw me, you can quickly tell I lift, not as heavy as a powerlifter can.

So I’ve been paying attention at the gym the last two days, not one person on a bench arched their back like the guy in the vid.

And when you talk, you can quickly tell you’re a giant tool.

And these several people - how much are they benching?

I’m at a powerlifting gym and damn near everybody arches. Many of us are also record holders, compete at the national level, or at the minimum qualified for it. There are also 5-6 powerlifting refs at my gym too.

I’m a powerlifting ref myself. If I knew a guy was training for powerlifting, and they asked me to look at their set, like many lifters at my gym do towards their end of meet prep, I’d tell them not to hitch. If they hitched at a meet, I’d red light it.

But if I saw a big strongman competitor doing axle deadlifts with figure 8 straps and hitching, I wouldn’t say shit.

I go to LA fitness, not metro-flex. 225 is the usual max press there, sometimes 315. But usually guys are pressing 135 or less. I press 225 on flat bench. Never thought to go higher. 405 deadlift, I can die happy with that number. Not going to mention squats. You fuckers will die laughing if I mention it.

So by a PL standard, no I don’t lift. I never said any of you weren’t strong. You should be as all you do is max out.

Reminds me of an old story:

Galileo was ordered to turn himself in to the Holy Office to begin trial for holding the belief that the Earth revolves around the Sun, which was deemed heretical by the Catholic Church.

So these people’s opinions are worth what exactly?

Goodbye bitches. If you want me back in your subset forum, post something else that a non PL will have issues understanding and tag me. I’ll come back.

Fuck you, I’m going to do some cardio and light pulls…

Dawg I max out like twice a year

Cheating what? The bench Gods?

At this point it’s safe to assume that the girl in the video was benching more than anybody at his gym.

I’m intrigued at how something can be cheating if powerlifting isn’t a sport?

In all seriousness, how could something be cheating if you’re not even aware there’s a rulebook?

What on earth would make this dude think anyone would want him back anywhere?

I believe he’s convinced himself that everyone disagreeing with him is a competitive powerlifter, and that anyone else would think he’s right.
