It was just a fun joke.
But seriously, in my culture you can’t ask someone about their drug use unless you immediately offer them some of your drugs.

I am just gonna flat out say, if you CAN’T win a local meet without taking steroids, you are not going to go far in this sport. Yes, this includes competing against people that ARE using steroids in a local meet.
Check out this video by Dave Tate
It does depend on where you live (I’ve seen multiple national records set at meets near me), but that’s not the point.
If you wait until you will for sure win, you will probably never compete. I think rate of progress of competitors is probably higher than casual lifters. It’s about getting better each meet, and learning. I don’t care if I lose if I set PRs on lifts or total.
When I say local, I don’t mean in terms of proximity but level of competition. I would assume a meet that can have national records set is a national meet, or at least has national certified judges, compared to a small local meet.
They did have different judges, but it wasn’t a regional or national meet.
This was not ipf. Uspa was the fed. Not sure on all the differences between federations.
I’m at the point were I just don’t care if it is tested or not. Just want to lift more.
Yeah, at least had the national judges. Typically have to pay just to fly them out. I have the wrong job, haha.
You sound like you are likely to end up badly.
The problem here is that it isn’t just “natural” vs. “steroids”, there is a dose-response relationship with steroids and that response includes side effects that can take years off your life if you go too far. To paraphrase you, “In an untested fed, there is always the possibility that you didn’t make the podium because someone was brave enough, risky enough to take way more drugs than you and never cycle off.” Where do you draw the line if you are willing to do everything possible? Death?
I’m guessing you didn’t watch Pete Rubish’s video that I linked this other day, I suggest you watch this. He says that PL is becoming a competition of who can take the most drugs for the longest without cycling off. And people do get seriously fucked up and die from that, there was an article on this site recently on pro bodybuilders who died from steroid use.
If I remember it was a local guy, and they only had the head judge that was certified to that level. Again, not familiar with that level of rules for the different feds.
Sounds like in most feds you can set national records at any meet. In the IPF affiliate here you can, WPC same (I set a few records myself), not aware of any fed where you can’t do so. In IPF you have to go to an international meet to set a world record but not in all other feds, in the WPC affiliate here you c an set world records at nationals.
I’m going to go untested later in life. I just want to max out my drug tested potential and compete in Drug Tested nationals first.
