I wouldn’t recommend doing OL movements wearing only socks, especially on concrete. Ihe moves are obviously very dynamic, and proper foot support is important. I doubt that you would see many serious athletes doing plyos on hard surfaces without proper footwear for the same reason. Also, you really don’t want to be sliding around all over the place and shoes will provide better traction.
uh oh… =D
but I do agree with your statement, just being devils advocate
I knew someone would rub my nose with that video
To my defense:
The stupid airline lost their luggage
Looks like they’re lifting on a hard rubber mats
Near perfect form
Many hours of training conditioned their bodies to absorb the forces.
May I also suggest…

True, but it’s always better when someone knowledgable like romanaz brings up an example to be funny, rather than someone starting a flame war that can’t be easily proven either way.
I confess that I’ve been too lazy to put on OL shoes, and Front Squated and Power Jerked while bare foot, but I think I would be risking an injury if I tried Cleaninq, Snatching or Jerking without shoes (my lifting platform has a hardwood strip between rubber mats, so I’m protecting my weights not my feet ;-)).

I know I can easily do the lifts barefoot, but I doubt my feet would really enjoy splinters and such. Split jerks would hurt definitely.
