Who thought that inhaling smoke wasn’t detrimental to their health? Ummm…duh?
Like RRJC said, everything in moderation. For every one thing I do that is bad for me(smoke a cigar, drink too much, trans fat from my weekly Chinese food binge), I do about 10 things that are good for me. I’m not too worried.

But what if I only use a bucket bong?
I guess water is a pretty good filter.
I was joking dude. A bucket bong is pretty much the worst way to smoke anything, as it injects the unfiltered smoke directly into your lungs.
Very efficient with the herb as there’s no wastage, but very quickly leads to sore throats etc due to the unrelenting nastiness of the practise.
I haven’t used one in years. But I used to smoke a fair bit when I was younger and found my motivation was leaving me.
So I gave it up. I’ll only smoke ocassionally these days.
I still think it’s stupid that it’s illegal though.
I find it funny that most people don’t realize that going to smoke that hookah thing is worse for you then a cigarette. Water basically filters nothing.

Hookah uses coals which burn at much lower degree’s(around 100-120C). The way a hookah is designed, the smoke is much cooler, so it is not nearly as harsh or nearly as hot as a cigarette. Also, I have never met anybody who smokes hookah multiple times a day like a smoker smokes cigarettes.
Most people do not smoke hookah for nicotine buzz(well maybe people just starting), but mainly for social reasons. Most people never even bother to buy a hookah or even learn to load a bowl of it, so the “consumption” is much less than that of cigarettes.

False. Have you ever farted in the bathtub? No smell whatsoever. Even if you hold your head right above the area the bubble comes up in.
You have weak farts. But you are right many things are soluble in water. Just take a sip of some bong water and then decide if it absorbed anything from the smoke.
About the whole water thing: a bucket bong is not a real bong, any American pot smoker would know it as a gravity bong. A gravity bong does not use water to filter the smoke. However, A blisset bucket does.

I don’t know about this. I used to smoke weed heavily and smoke cigarettes heavily. Finally I quit smoking tobacco and only smoked weed for a while. I smoked a cigarette and it was harder to breathe then after smoking a joint. Despite the fact that the joint has no filter. Mind you I have no proof that how hard or easy it is to breathe is linked to getting cancer.

I don’t know what to believe. I don’t think it’s clear yet. But this is one study. Most credible studies I’ve seen suggest that pot does not promote cancer, though of course it does damage lung function and does increase the risk of emphysema. Any time you have smoke in your lungs, that’s going to damage lung function.
Most studies I’ve read have stated the same which is why I don’t give much credit to one study that comes along claiming it is worse than cigarettes in that department. I am also wondering why this study gets in the papers while the others didn’t.
I actually know why but I like to pretend like I didn’t see it coming.
Yeah. The whole one joint being worse then 20 cigarettes has been spouted for years. They told us that in health class over 10 years ago [without providing evidence at that time].
Btw, water definitely helps!! Anybody who has smoked weed through a bong knows this. Try taking a huge toke with water and a huge toke without water. It isn’t about the water filtering, it is because the water cools the smoke down so it doesn’t inflame your throat and lungs so badly.

It probably wouldn’t even be illegal if potheads didn’t insist on inhaling the damn stuff.
I can’t even pretend to know what this statement is supposed to mean. [As a side note, there would probably be no campaign against trans fat if people didn’t eat it. If they just rolled around it and used it as bath oil, there’d be no problem]
I also wanted to say that I hate the saying “god didn’t make booze, but he made weed”. People pretend like it makes it ok to smoke weed; just because it is natural does NOT mean you should light it on fire and inhale the fucking shit. Allow me to demonstrate:
Dan works in a mine
Dan licks a piece of lead continuously because it is natural and therefor must be good
Dan gets brain damage

Marijuana, unlike cigarettes, causes bronchodilation. That is why it was easier to breath.
