Posterior Delts - Shoulders or Back?

I forgot I posted on this thread lol! I usually do 15 sets rear delts on shoulder day; heavy high reps. And again on back day with a superset of flyes and and single-arm cable flyes. I think rear delts are easily the most undertrained muscle. Even I had to play catch-up.

I do a few sets of very high rep rear delt movements on bench/chest day. Relatively heavy on shoulder day (10-12 rep range or so)

I do some variation several times a week, sometimes just with bands or as ‘active recovery’.

Had some shoulder issues awhile back due to imbalances. I don’t think one can do too much rear delt work especially given the ratio of pressing to pulling movements many people do.

Anybody do rear delt rows on cables or w/ DBs? Looking for tips to get the MMC on these.

Start with cables or light-weight DBs, don’t retract the scapula or you’ll turn it into a rhomboid/trap exercise. The movement is relatively small, if you’re arms are traveling behind you you’re most likely retracting your scapulas (scapulae?)

Could look something like

  1. banded hs chest press 4 x 12
  2. inc db chest press ramp up till u cant do 10reps - 4x 10
  3. reverse band inc bench 5 x 5
  4. pec flies - 3 x 15
  5. db lateral raises strict 4 x 12
  6. reverse pec deck 4 x 25
  7. barbell front raises 3 x 12
  8. rever
