Post Workout Drinks

I’ve heard people getting good results from drinking a little of the preworkout drink before and the rest throughout the workout…

What do you guys think of that?

Marv: I argee with what you’re doing. In some countries (like here in Canada) Surge is really expensive. What i do is look at what’s in Surge: dextrose, malto, calcium, sodium, protein.
Realistically could a person get

  1. some maltodextrin (bulk)
  2. calcium + phosphorus supplement
  3. gatorade (for the electrolytes)
  4. protein
and mix it in appropriate ratio?
I realize this is not the real thing, but those who really don’t have the funds it might be a doable altrnative.

Not to be a dick, but I guess you guys just like paying for name brand stuff…I love T mag and Biotest but I cant afford to pay for expensive supplements. I’m one of those guys that always trys to get everything for cheaper. I like to hold on to my money…

I’d get the malto and dextro wholesale and toss in some whey powder and call it a day. A frugal person’s Surge. I’ll call it Splurge

Do you really think that a certain supplement or formula is going to make or break your progress?? No, the point is you are a eating a large liquid carb/protein shake after your workout. Sorry, but that is the truth.

I love the name bro. Splurge. Excellent. When I make mine, I always tried to come up with a name, so if someone in the gym questions what I’m drinking, I don’t have to explain. I’ll just say the name, and then they say “Oh” and walk away. I always called mine “Blast” but that might be a changin’.

The question is how much of a difference using hydrolysate and ideally apportioned BCAAs make with regards to the insulin response.
