Post TBT Results!

I’m just about to start week 6. I’m following the TBT-Entered page on the spreadsheets (I can’t remember the name of the board member who made those, but they’re excellent - thanks!).

That version of the program has squats almost 2/3 of the days I think, but they’re quite varied - back, front, hack. That’s the way to do it if you want to squat every day day I reckon. The same goes for deadlifts too - you can mix up the styles (regular/straight-leg/sumo) and mix in good-mornings. That way I reckon you could do both every day if you really wanted.

I like the program a lot, but on the lower volume days I do feel like I’m not doing enough. I often throw in a couple of extra excersises (usually single-joint) following the set/rep protocol for that day. Is that bad I wonder…?

Anyway it’s a great program.

Im about to start it next week, just choosing my excersises. Been looking forward to trying this for a while. Has anyone any reccommendations as to which lifts to do? on which days?I would like to squat on all 3 days, but that makes slotting in deadlifts so much harder.

I alternate having a wekk with 2 squat with 1 dead workout and then a 2 dead and 1 squat the next week. That means I always have a compound chest, compound back and compound deltoid move (overhead press, db and bb).

If I were going to kick one of those out for a dead and squat day, it would be delts, but I don’t think that can be done too often without risking overtraining (or just needing additional recovery).

I also alternate my isos doing a calves/traps day and an arm (tris/bis) day. I find this is a nice way to work in the iso exercises and hit some key muscle groups.

For example:

Workout 1

back squat
dips
bent row
overhead bb press

shrugs
calf raises

Workout 2

dead
incline db press
pull ups
overhead db press

hammer curls
skull crushers

Workout 3

front squat
flat bb bench
bent row
overhead bb press

shrugs
calf raises

This is just an example. I hope it helps.
