Post-Surgery AAS Use?

Hi all,

I lurk here at times to absorb knowledge, but haven’t really posted much. I’m going to have a full-thickness supraspinatus tear surgically repaired, along with sub-acromial depression, in April/May of this year. Now, the recuperation is long (ortho said 6 months before I’m completely released), and of course I don’t want to lose what I’ve managed to gain so far. Being as AAS are readily available if you know where to look, and could help me prevent significant atrophy and speed recuperation time (right???), I’m kicking the idea around.

I’m not looking to do a full-blown cycle(s), since I won’t be lifing upper-body for a while after, and realize that I won’t be able to use continuously for 6 months straight, so I’m maybe looking for some advice as to a decent way to attack this.

-I have access to ANY AAS, and am not stuck on any one or combo over the other.

-Being that even small amounts can ‘shut me down’, should I just go ahead and use a decent amount and do it right instead of ‘pussing around’ with it?

-Since I’m not looking to gain during this downtime, maybe a 2-on, 2-off or 2-on, 4-off strategy with modest amounts would be more appropriate than a traditional 6 to 12 week cycle?

-Should I not even bother, and just ‘man up’, lose the muscle, and try to gain it back afterward?

I appreciate everyone’s opinion and input.

Look into growth hormone.

GH doesn’t begin to show any benefits for several months, and is debateably not that anabolic, right?

Its not THAT anabolic.

But it is VERY anti-catabolic.

Now this sounds incorrect, but it does seem very good at holding on to muscle.
And on top of that it does promote fantastic healing rates of both muscles and tendons/other soft tissues.
Im honestly surprised the medical community doesnt prescribe it normally post op just to speed healing.

If you have the money and a legit source GH is the preferred way to go most likely, then cycle again once you are recovered.

An on/off protocol might help, but 6 months is still quite long even with that method, you would still be quite supressed.
Lower dose steroid usage during the recovery is doable, but 6 months is a bit too long to be practical…

6 months is far too long to stay on for most people, and it would absolutely suck to come off and PCT while you were still crippled.

I agree with the GH, you will recuperate real fast…
