Post Here To Accept Jesus Christ

God?

Seriously, you might not realize that YOU are the one in most need of humbling yourself. You clearly don’t realize that if you go around judging people, they will judge you back – rather than accepting what you have to say and wanting to know more.

Personally, I have nothing against Christians. In fact, the people I most respect and love happen to all be Christians. But every time I hear or see somebody with your mindless yet judgmental attitude, it makes my skin crawl.

If you really want to spread the Gospel, try changing your tone. A LOT. By sounding like an arrogant, judgmental moron, you are basically making a foul out of yourself and a great disservice to the Body of Christ you claim to be part of…
JPBear wrote:

Why? Because you realize Christians are just human beings, no different from everybody else in their poor behavior, a behavior that really doesn’t change at all when they are “born again” – except for a select few who basically become arrogant pricks and annoy the heck out of everybody else?

If you want people to make the same choice you did, be somebody that people admire and WANT TO BE. Bluntly stating that this thread makes you cry clearly isn’t a good step in that direction…

Next time think: “what can I do to give people a reason to want to be like me”?

There is still time, steveo. Let go of the darkness and fear and come to us. Embrace the tomato sauced noodles and the hearty meatballed bosom of the one true savior of mankind and pirates.

Your “clever” attempt to make what I believe into something ridiculous, only shows your blindness to God’s truth.

The Bible predicts such responses when it tells us that

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” 2 Peter 3:3-7

Now that is what the Word of God says. So your argument is not with me, but with God.

One moment after we die – one split second following death – we will all know the truth completely, only for those who rejected Christ, it will be too late!

I admire your… persistence… in your beliefs, JPBear, but please try to lighten up.

Remember: If there really IS a God, and he possesses all of the qualities that you believe he possesses, then he will have the most poignantly developed and appreciative sense of humor in the entire universe.

He’s probably blushing with the all the attention, reading this thread, right now.

Please relax. It’s called smiling. Smiling + Laughter = Good.
I also apprecitate JP Bear – not for her “persistence,” but for her heart for those who scoff and reject.

From your post here, one can confidently conclude that you are framing a “God of your own imagination.” Your insistence that he must have a “sense of humor” that would cause Him to ignore His own righteous and Holy commands, shows your complete ignorance and blindness to the truth.

Do you really think that the God who appeared to Moses in the bush as a flame of fire and the Messiah who is described in revelation with eyes (of judgment) as flames of fire – would “laugh” at those who reject Him?

Again, my life, your life, everyone’s life, hangs upon each precarious heartbeat. We are born with only a finite number of heartbeats…

One day, it will stop and our existence here on Earth will cease. You really want your eternity depending upon some ridiculous notion that God must have a “good sense of humor?”

Really THINK about it. Stop posting replies and ask God to show you His truth through His Word.

Of course not. Objective truth is truth no matter what WE wish to believe about it.

The substance of what I said, I truly believe that if one would take a dispassionate look at the religious situation of England, one would come to the same conclusion that I have come to. England has lost its’ spiritual soul. Have you researched England’s storied religious and evangelical past?

As for making your skin crawl – i.e. having a really negative reaction to Christians who proclaim the truth – well Jesus had the same problem when He was on Earth proclaiming His truth also.

“My kind,” happens to be those who do care very much for the souls of others. Otherwise, trust me, I have plenty other things to do.

I was not comparing myself to Jesus to mean – and this is very obvious from my post – that I am, in kind, like Him. That would be blasphemy!

I just pointed out that Jesus was rejected and He, Himself, said that if “they will reject me, they will reject you also…” That was a paraphrase, but that is what Jesus said. The rejection of the message is what I was talking about.

You know how to deal with him:

If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder, 2 and if the sign or wonder of which he has spoken takes place, and he says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” 3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer.

The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. 5 That prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he preached rebellion against the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery; he has tried to turn you from the way the LORD your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you.

6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, "Let us go and worship other gods" (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him.

9 You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people. 10 Stone him to death, because he tried to turn you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.

…no, religion ?s a fairytale for adults, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If you’ve found peace through what you believe, then that is great. I’ve found peace too, but that had nothing to do with beliefs or religion, how difficult is that for you to understand?

…many, many people have found peace without the help of religion, and they don’t need to be told that they need religion inspite of that. Just leave me be, and i’ll grant you the same respect. Deal?

I’m curious: I see something to this effect said in nearly every thread dealing with the topic of religion: “Stop trying to shove your religion down my throat!” is usually the battle cry. I respect that sentiment, as do most Christians. I don’t think Christianity is something that should be shoved down one’s throat; it simply isn’t very effective.

However, I find it odd that upon seeing a thread titled, “Post Here To Accept Jesus,” some of you felt the need to not only read it but also felt the need to chastise the OP for his “Bible thumping.” If you want to tell him his interpretaion of the Bible is wrong, fine; if you want to tell him there is no God, fine; however, don’t tell him he has no right to proselytize. He didn’t force anyone to read his thread.

Unless he is PMing everyone than he hasn’t “forced” anything on anyone. No one here is part of a captive audience–simply click on that little “x” in the upper right hand corner and be done with it.

Look at what I wrote. Now look at how you completely rephrased it and changed its meaning.

I have no problems with Christians who proclaim (their?) truth. I never said I did. What I have a problem with is with PEOPLE (generally – not only Christians) passing judgment on others, like you do.

I also have a problem with people that distort my words completely (like you did) – also irrespective of their faith.

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye;’ and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” {Matthew 7:1-5}

… have you stopped for a moment and considered some of us are actually trying to help? Intelligent people welcome criticism. By criticizing him we are giving him the opportunity to learn, adapt and grow (that’s what intelligence is!) –

among other things become more aware of the world that surrounds all of us, and how his words are interpreted and understood by others – become a better communicator, and, ultimately, a better Christian.

Once again, you misinterpret basic English.

By “your kind” I did not mean christians. Whatever fairy tales people want to believe to get them through the night is fine by me.

Your kind are pushy, arrogant, self-righteous bible thumpers who have no self-awareness.

People who fail to see that their unctuous self-aggrandizing behavior turns more people off than entices them.

I took issue with those who, in a thread titled “Post Here To Accept Jesus Christ,” decided to let the OP know that they feel he ought not force his religion down the throats of others. That you felt it necessary to respond to what I wrote, I assume you feel that he is shoving his religion down everyone’s throat and you hope to help him realize his error.

If that’s the case, my point still stands: he isn’t shoving his religion down anyone’s throat as far as I’ve seen–so he doesn’t exactly need help in that area. In fact, you all are comming to a thread he started, so, maybe you ought to reexamine who is doing the shoving. With that said, I never took issue with those who chose to debate his theological stance, so if by help, you mean you want to help him realize his belief system is wrong, than by all means, knock yourself out.

Did it ever occure to you that he is attempting to do the same for you?

Yet, in the same breath, you fail to consider how what you say is interpreted and understood by those of us who are Christian. If you expect him to better comunicate his point, than I suggest you and everyone else who wants to help him, start by seeing things from his perspective so that you might better communicate your point.

Because, I got to tell you, from this side of the fence–and I don’t think anyone has ever considered me a “Bible thumper”–many of you are comming off like judemental assholes, so it’s kind of hard to take your “help” with anything more than a grain of salt.

hmmmm
