Post Here To Accept Jesus Christ

This all so very confusing. [/quote]

I think the idea is that you’re supposed to be afraid of something. Then, these guys can “save” you from whatever scary thing is lurking under your bed. You know, like a child.

Although a child should probably be a little more afraid of a priest than a monster under his bed.

BA-ZING! Thank you, thank you.

One of the greatest posts ever, doog. I thank you for your clarity.

Dood, nice work on Earth, I really enjoyed my time there man. Thank you. I know you have to judge me and all, and I’m ready.

Peace!

By the way, do you think you could do something about annoying twaddles who force themselves into other people’s lives on your behalf?

I know you know everything and all, but hey, why not a little feedback right? After all, you gave me the gift of a brain… so I felt compelled to use it.

Great stuff, Doogie.

Hey, steveo5801…do yourself a favor and keep Matt 7:6 in mind. Your last post was yesterday so maybe you already have, but, in case you haven’t, it’s time to let it go…

Have you ever told a lie? Ever stolen anything? Ever used God’s name in vain? Ever had sex outside of marriage, or looked with lust? Have you ever hated anyone? Have you dishonoured your parents? Have you envied other people? If you have done any of these things you have broken God’s Ten Commandments, His moral law and will be found guilty before God on the day of judgement.

It is God that you need to be saved from, and his wrath.

He died in our place because we could not satisfy the justice God requires for our sins. We would all have to resign ourselves to hell if it were not for Jesus and His sacrifice.

Because God rejects the proud and gives grace to the humble.

The Bible says that it is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. If you die without repenting, I am deeply afraid for you.

Mathew 7:6 runs through my head every time I post about Jesus on this site.

I am not posting any of these things for the benefit of the mockers or the hecklers, because most have already heard this message and rejected it. I continue to post because there are over 100,000 registered members on this site, many who read threads and don’t post at all.

The word of God is powerful and sharper than any double edged sword. God also says that His word will not return to Him void. You just never know who will hear the Gospel and respond to it. It is not the Christian’s job to tally up converts, but to spread the Gospel to every end of the earth.

Very true. I guess I’ve just grown very, very pessimistic over the past few years. I see so much written on this and other boards about the Bible–and Christianity in general–that is so absurde and flat out wrong that I’ve given trying to have meaningful conversations about the topic on th internet.

Especially concerning the historicity of the Bible (that being my main field of interest), I find people so completely misguided that if I were to let myself get pulled into a “debate,” like steveo has, I would be stuck in front of my computer (work computer, mind you)for an entire day. I just don’t have the energy…

I know exactly what you mean. I find religious debates fruitless and way too time consuming. I think it is best to just stick to the Gospel message and let God work in people’s hearts.

Hey, excellent point…

…I’m done!

SteveO

Over and out!

(For now…)

It’s no fun when JPBear chimes in to these threads. I would feel guilty treating her nonsense the way it deserves to be treated.

I hate Jesus. What a bastard.

Also, does anyone know why someone from the emirates area has a spanish name?

Beyond me.

Why? If it walks like a duck…

You know i love it… Just dont try to discover anything new, just blindly follow a dusty old bronze age scripture.

Genius.

It is God that you need to be saved from, and his wrath.

Jesus died for me. You can’t pin that on me. I wasn’t there. I don’t even know the guy. Why would he die for me? Does this have something to do with the danger you say I’m in? Is it somehow related to my being a sinner?

He died in our place because we could not satisfy the justice God requires for our sins. We would all have to resign ourselves to hell if it were not for Jesus and His sacrifice.

Why must I bow the knee and humble myself as a little child? I told you, I didn’t even know this Jesus guy.

Because God rejects the proud and gives grace to the humble.

The Bible says that it is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. If you die without repenting, I am deeply afraid for you.

I wonder how humble all those bloody catholics priests are. in their fine garb and ceremonial dress and expensive props.

Not at all, ergo they go to hell.

I had a neighbour spout this nonsense to me. Good for her, but really? What was lacking in her voice was sanctamony. Oh, no, that was there.

TV exists now, that should surely be your Opioid of choice. Its easy and its there 24 hours a day. Religion is so old hat.

I know you do, miniross. And that hatred, if not changed by the time you leave this Earth, will cost you an eternity of burning in hell.

God doesn’t wish for you to perish. Humble yourself and come to Jesus today!

Yes, when it is the TRUTH!

The truth is the truth, no matter how old it is. Your logic is really “ill-logic” you know.

Miniross,

Salvation is still “in.” Just like the sky is still blue (on a sunny, cloudless day), people need to be saved. That hasn’t changed.

What has changed is the culture. Your country used to be the “garden” for born-again missionaries to the entire world. Sadly, England has lost its soul and you, the English people, have lost your way. This is the new thing – the change in culture. God hasn’t changed, nor has His divine demands upon human beings.

Try as you might to console yourself with all of this nonsense, but the fact remains that you, Miniross, as well as all people, have in themselves – implanted by God – a sense that there is an eternity and that something is missing in your life.

Humble yourself, and come to Jesus!

Actually, unlike you steveo, miniross is in no danger because he wholeheartedly accepts pirating and wenching and the glory of the noodlerifficness of the FSM.

When he dies, he will go before the beer volcano judges and they will hold up score cards about all the wenching he has done. Then, if he has wenched enough drunk chicks, he will go before the pirating judges. If he has pirated enough loot, he will be let past the velvet rope to revel in the goodness and joy of the eternal beer volcano.

There is still time, steveo. Let go of the darkness and fear and come to us. Embrace the tomato sauced noodles and the hearty meatballed bosom of the one true savior of mankind and pirates.

Ramen, me hearties.

Reading this thread makes me cry.

I admire your… persistence… in your beliefs, JPBear, but please try to lighten up.

Remember: If there really IS a God, and he possesses all of the qualities that you believe he possesses, then he will have the most poignantly developed and appreciative sense of humor in the entire universe.

He’s probably blushing with the all the attention, reading this thread, right now.

Please relax. It’s called smiling. Smiling + Laughter = Good.
