And saying “you just don’t get it” is a cop out. If it was well-done, people would understand it if there was a modicum of context to it. Art does not mean throwing up a cloud of things and expecting the viewer to randomly grab the right meaning. If you make something that not everyone will understand, then do it and stop bitching. I hate to break it to you, but Michael Jackson’s pop culture era didn’t die when he died, it died when a little thing called the 90’s happened. Michael Jackson was a great artist, but the entire music scene shifted with the punk/grunge/garage band stuff that was really starting to get to the mainstream.
