So 6 days ago in did my first subq abdomen with test cyp in cottonseed oil, 50mg 25g pin 5/8 long. All was fine until 3.5 days later when I went to do my next injection, different location on abdomen, I noticed I had a hard slightly tender lump under the skin. Skin isnt red but this lump I a bit tender if I push on it. No issue with second area…yet. Any idea what may have caused this? What this bump is?
So now a question. I am a big guy or fat around 35% BF. Should I still pinch the skin for the subq injections on the abdomen area?
I have this exact same issue since trying a subq 4 days ago! What was your outcome if you can remember? And how are you doing now a few years down the line?
Lumps are normal. Some people are more or less sensitive to them, but they are totally normal. I sometimes get a bruise, sometimes don’t. You can switch to IM if the lump bothers you. Every method has pros and cons. For sub q, that’s just one of the little annoying things. I pay little attention to it anymore, unless my wife or kids points it out. For me, they go away after 3-4 days. So with twice weekly, I usually have a lump somewhere on my tummy most of the time. Without the bruise, it goes unnoticed.
I started SQ test cyp at 60 mg (0.3 ml of 200mg/ml) twice weekly about 5 weeks ago. Cottonseed carrier. No lumps, pain, etc if going slow. I watch the clock and make sure it’s taking me 30+ seconds to empty the syringe. Like some said, it may be individual response but make sure you’re taking it slow on SQ injections.
