So I just started injections of test cypionate 200mg every 14 days, which I will split up into more frequent doses. I did my first injection on 4 days ago and have felt terrible since the day after, feeling sad but angry no energy.
My e2 is usually on the high side ~ 60 when my test is about 250. Could the way I feeling be that my e2 shot up? I cant get into to my endo for 3 more weeks to get bloodwork.
Yes, could be. How much did you take?
I did my 200mg injection
Wait 7 days after your 200 mg injection and start injecting 50 mg every 3.5 days. Then take labs after 5-6 weeks. This should make you more stable and reduce your e2.
Your SHBG ill determine dosing and injection frequency, something endo’s know nothing about. Sounds like you’ll be needing an AI with your TRT protocol.
Did you use the LC/MS/MS method for measuring the E2? If not it’s the wrong female E2 panel and E2 is overstated.
It was the lc/ms labcorp test.
Sounds like your prescribing doctor is following an outdated protocol.
The VA does this. They give guys 200mg at a time, with no regards to their SHBG.
Then they come in and their H/H is insane, or they are having bad E2 symptoms.
That protocol is flawed big time. Sounds like you already know that.
But Yes, if you are naturally high e2, and you just injected 200mg of test…
Going to try 100mg once a week. Been 5 days now and still having ups and downs. Not sure how long it takes e2 to level out but hopefully soon.
This is a good starting protocol esp to stabilize e2
That’s not ideal at all, in time you will understand why. Injecting once weekly will cause fluctuations after 6 weeks, over time these fluctuations will be more pronounced and you will feel less relief with each injection.
I’ve read the stickies and understand why it’s a bad protocol. I thought I had a decent endo and we even talked about frequency of injections. I guess I’ll wait for the 7th day from the 200mg I gave myself and begin 50mg every 3.5 days and see if I level out.
Endo’s and urologists don’t really specialize in TRT and many don’t do it because there’s no money in replacing bioidentical hormones. Bioidentical hormones aren’t patentable like prescription drugs, so most don’t do it because it doesn’t pay the bills.
Bioidentical hormones is more of the area of sports medicine which is frown upon by the medical community, so it’s no wonder most are clueless as it’s brand new to them.
So just out of curiosity when should I feel more leveled out from that first injection? I’ve been on transdermals for ~8 years and even though my e2 was high, highest was 66 when test was 880, I never had this type of issue.
You will feel fluctuations for the next 4-6 weeks, at 4 weeks most start to feel the improvements if the protocol is right for you. However if you change the dosage or injection frequency, you reset the clock and it’s another 4-6 weeks before you reach a stable state.
If working with inexperienced doctors it could take years to balance everything out, or you may never truly balance everything out. I’ll bet your current doctor has no strategy or game plan to assist you should you run into complications or side effects.
I wasted a year trying to figure this out on my own and finally threw in the towel and joined a reputable anti-aging clinic who has their act together. It’s great and they offer telemedicine, everything is mailed to me and the consults are done over the phone or skype.
I moved to michigan about a year ago. I just realized that Dr. Crisler is like an hour from me but the cost is not doable for me at the moment. So I’ll do 50mg 2x a week and get back to my endo in a few weeks
So it’s been over a week since since my first dose and I’m waiting until this Saturday for my next dose at 50mg to begin twice a week. I’m still feeling extremely down especially in the mornings then afternoons I’m doing better but by the evening I just have nothing left. Could this be from my e2 or am I experiencing something else. Not sure if I should get labs or wait a few more weeks to stabilize at my twice a week injections. Any input would be appreciated
We talked about fluctuations for the next 4-6 weeks, once you start a new protocol you will reset the clock to another 4-6 weeks of fluctuations. So get back with your doctor in 6 weeks after starting your new protocol.
Any opinions on 50mg of test cyp in cottonseed oil and doing sub q 2x a week? I see a lot of debate.
That’s the standard that people usually start at, and then adjust from there.
So sub q is pretty standard now? I had a friend tell me it’s better to do IM
