Was the same with my wife.
Keep going with the updates dude, interesting to read your experiences as you go through the process of āgetting cleanā (I donāt like using that term as not everyone was an addict like me, but thatās how I view it).
BTW general consensus is that 100 days is the magic mark. In fact when I hit 100 days I marked the occasion by getting my first tatt. That may sound weird to some (making a big deal of not watching porn) but people whoāve been within its hold like I was understand. As I said earlier in this thread, hardest thing Iāve ever done. The flow-on effects to the rest of my life, including in areas I didnāt expect were affected by my use, were nothing short of amazing.

I can relate to the topic a lot.
Some background : I grew up with the internet. My first e-mail was when I was 12 years old, something like 15 years ago, iirc. Of course I quickly became attracted to erotic pictures then porn pics.
From 17 to 21, I had two addictions : porn and weed. Back then, I spent all my evenings hanging with friends or at parties (mostly with male friends, not a lot of girls in the neighborhood) getting wasted on weed and booze, listening to music. At first it was full of fun, I had friends, good ones, and fun, and lot of memories.
Then I discovered that weed + porn was an extremely pleasant compilation. I was able to fap longer and to reach ultra strong orgasms, so I started to watch porn every evening after the parties, before sleeping. This quickly became an addiction.
The porn addiction was not new. I liked to watch porn etc from a younger age without thinking about the possible social damage, but mixing it with weed was a devastating combo.
Now I can say that with that porn habit, I lost interest with social interactions. I also had less sex drive for girls and was faaaar less able to spend my time / energy into seducing girls and getting them to bed, at an age when it should have been a sport.
At the age of 21, I started to have physical issues directly linked to masturbation / porn. That changed everything.
I got shoulder pain, and some kind of lower back / butt region pain. Went to a lot of exams, and after a while I discovered that excessive masturbation damaged some muscles in the perineum region. It affected my sports playing (I was playing basketball at regional level in my country).
I decided to stop totally porn, weed, and to get some weeks off masturbation then masturbate only with my mind, etcā¦
I moved away from my friends, and started some introspection. I was so out of shape despite playing ball⦠I had bad skin, less muscle mass than ever, I was always tired⦠I remember being unable to sleep, being super stressed, anxiousā¦
After a couple months, I got a girlfriend. My sex drive for her was crazy but speaking of sex, I remember having nearly no fantasies, nothing fancy, I just wanted to have sex, and I discovered that most people have secret fantasies, dreams, etc⦠this was not my case.
Then after some months I started to watch porn again, while being with her, and I can remember being āabsentā when having sex, sometimes thinking of porn, sometimes even fantasizing about the sex we have as porn (like it was a video⦠how I would describe it etc)ā¦
What I can say about porn :
- It has become harder and harder to get an erection watching porn without physical contact, while before I would get up very fast.
- When I stop porn, I first get a period where my sex drive is null, that lasts from a couple of days to a couple of weeks, then I start to get more and more sex drive
- When I watch porn, I have more trouble focusing on the sex I have with my partner
- excessive masturbation led to muscle problems and shoulder problems for me
- porn is bad when it comes to personal sex fantasy
Even today, my sex drive is lower than ever. I have hard time having a hard on from ānothingā. even without porn, and at 27⦠THis is starting to scare me.
Actually my goal for quitting porn is to lower my sex drive. I think this might be quite opposite to some of you, who wish to increase sex drive in real life without porn. For me, I would like to lower my sex drive, period. Anyone has suggestions for this?
1mg of Letrozole a day for a week. Youāll be as stoic and unencumbered as a eunuch.
Problem is, the sex drive is connected to motivation, ambition, and passion in general, so be careful what you ask for. Trust me, the desire to spread your seed is NOT the only thing you lose. Much better to learn to control and direct the passions you possess, than to tie a rope around the whole works in an attempt to throttle a part of it.
Actually being addicted or compulsive to porn does not cause a higher sex drive, itās not hormonal in nature at all, itās basically just ramping the seeking method of dopamine to sky rocketing levels⦠What feels like an extremely high sex drive might just be an addiction to dopamine surge, obviously once balance is restored then will power starts to return, the frontal cortex regains normalcy and the body will adapt again to how sex is supposed to be⦠So no need to do anything except windle off the fantasies and pixels, porn, etc⦠If then itās still high it wonāt Make you constantly seeking and you can put the energy elsewhere in an extremely healthy wayā¦

Digitalairair,
the best way I have found to lower the sex drive is through fasting (water fasting) and prayer. Usually I go for 3-5 days every month or so, which is when the urge comes back. Itās interesting how often the practice is mentioned in the Bible and it is very effective (maybe one day I will shoot for 40 days but donāt have the time nowāalthough medical science confirms that even lean people could complete a 40 day water fast). If you are like me it will leave you a bit drained and foggy after the first day, and you will have to drop your training intensity (or eliminate it) but you will also get some new cuts. Good luck.

Iām actually at the end stage of my cutting now so this might sound like a good idea. I am doing IF right now, do you think the mini fast helps as well? Iāve noticed a slight decrease in sex drive but i canāt say for sure itās because of it.

purposely dehydrated yourself is not a smart move⦠If you are not a fighter weighing in or going to compete in the stage it will do nothing but cause an entire host of potential health complications, Water is one of the most important things for preserving and building muscle. As well as the entire human body.
Edit⦠nevermind didnt realize the terminology, If you ONLY consume water then good on you, I could never pull it off lol
however be VERY careful of side effects like Hyponatremia⦠you donāt want permenant brain damage, coma, or death from trying to detox or doing a cut.
Two weeks, no problems so far. After one week (basically starting last weekend) I was in some superhuman brain mode. I had energy out the ass and focus that I donāt think I have ever had before. Itās starting to subside a bit, but iām definitely in a better place. Have had 2 ārelationsā with the wife and those were both very good, with the 2nd being maybe the best we have had in a few years.
Iām 33 and from what I have read, since I started fapping to porn long before high speed internet was invented and had a very healthy sexual life with girls all growing up (basically until I got married) I should have a pretty quick recovery, as the really bad brain associations were not the first groundwork I laid down with regard to the sexual centers of the brain.

Countless women go through this chemical castration and the result is not surprising that men have a higher sex drive - but letās not go there.
Prolactin suppresses dopamine. If he is serious about a chemical castration progestins are the way to go.
Depo Provera is a progestin shot used to treat re offending pedophiles.
I would not take any medication or herb ( nootropics ) to suppress dopamine levels directly - better to mess up the endocrine system than the brain, in my opinion.
Becoming a vegetarian/vegan would be the healthiest way to reduce his sex drive:
āA lack of protein in the diet, leads to a deficiency in the amino acid tyrosine. Tyrosine is the precursor to dopamine, a drop in tyrosine levels causes dopamine levels to drop, which stimulates prolactin release. Sufficient dopamine suppresses prolactin production. Dopamine is synthesized in nervous tissue and in the adrenals from tyrosine. This amino acid is not only the precursor to dopamine, but to the stress hormones adrenaline and noradrenaline. These two hormones are synthesized from dopamine, and when stressed they are released. The greater the stress the lower dopamine drops. Levels of prolactin can remain elevated with an unexplained cause. For example there is one case of a man drinking 3l of soy milk per day. The phytoestrogens in the soy milk increased his estrogen levels 4-fold, with a subsequent decrease in libido and erectile dysfunction. Soy intake also decreases sperm counts.ā

If he does have a serious problem and/or wants a better chance to fight this until he masters self-control, he could experiment with a natural progesterone cream ( over the counter ) which not only has a low concentration of the actual hormone ( progesterone ) as opposed to the synthetic and toxic drug ( progestin ) but will be out of his system in 12 hours to see if it has a tranquilizing/passifying effect when he feels the dopamine fueled need to seek sexual gratification.
However, the natural progesterone is being used in males to increase libido - though my understanding is that these males are either depressed or low testosterone. If the male is normal the natural progesterone could just have a tranquilizer effect on the brain and the instinctual drives.
My husband ingested some of my progesterone orally by mistake and he was totally out of it for 8 hours.
Iāve heard that armies have used saltpeter for soldiers to reduce sex-drive. Does anyone know why that works⦠now I have a little googling to doā¦
man I donāt want anything that is going to take away my testosterone level, at least not yet. Iāll do it after Iām 40 when Iām done with the fitness game but right now itās too important of a hormone for all of my endeavors, artistically and athletically. I guess thatās the price you have to pay. Creatives and athletes are known for having extreme high sex drives, I think the only way to do it is to rechannel that energy into your work.
Also, I found that MDMA or LSD reduces my sex drive up to 3 days. Then Iām back to masturbating several times a day.

Just to reiterate, having experienced off the charts levels of prolactin as well as the near-complete eradication of E2, both of which are fabulously sex-drive suppressive, it is my recommendation that neither of these routes be pursued. Ever. Anywhere. By any man.
Again, itās not just the sex drive that is affected. I felt like someone had scooped out my soul with a melon baller.
