I’ll point out one thing that is easily overlooked. My weird, liberal state of MN only went to Hillary by 36-40k votes. Now, no one called for a re-count, cause it went to Hillary. But think about how close that is for how liberal of a state MN is. I think other states had recounts (that went to trump) that were in the ballpark of 40k votes.
The govt couldn’t recount in MN 2016. It would have had to be funded privately by Trump, who had no reason to do so given he had won the race.

Those damn LIB 'rals again!!!
(My bad, @pfury…those ARE “subsidies”…)
Populated by people who say they won’t for a Dem because they embrace socialism. Surrounded by those types in Kansas.
It’s the educational system man. People don’t get how big of a deal it is.
When we moved from WV to Ohio, we stuffed 5 people into a 2 bed apt because my parents wanted one of the only good school districts in my metro.
I was in honors classes in WV for math and normal classes for everything else. When we moved to Ohio I tested slightly below avg for my grade.
My parents tried floating some ‘the move must have been hard on him’ excuse that I definitely didn’t deserve. I simply hadn’t learned some of the test material despite being a grade ahead in WV.
You’re welcome Mu. That’s what I have been trying to say earlier in the thread, exactly what Maher said. I guess I am just not that articulate.
Speaking of POP! Based on what I read Beto is done. So that’s one down in the field. Now it’s only 20 something others. Beto goes POP! I call him done right now.
Edit: I am adding DeBlasio to the list. Not that I thought he was ever in it, but POP!
Speaking of “leaders” . I think one of the fundamental points of our system gets lost in all this bipartisan hate. These “leaders” are supposed to represent “us”. If that is the case how in the hell did we ever get these people ? We have the Socialistic / Communists on one side and the buffoonery and idiocy on the other. Oh, a word to the GOP, since, I am ranting: You can dress a monkey up in a pretty red silk dress, but, underneath, its still a fucking monkey.
As this “election season” has started its run, perhaps we all should remember this and start demanding some sanity from both “parties”.

Fuck political parties and super duper fuck to the people who want purity tests and feel like a vote for anything supported by someone with a different letter is awful.
Somehow we went from “I will work across the aisle” to “that guy voted for something Obama said. RINO!”
I won’t vote for anything the other people say is a good idea is the worst.
Agreed.
I’m a CPA (I see a lot of tax returns) in OKC and some of the most outspoken conservatives I know are also receiving the Earned Income Credit. (Of course I also say ("Nobody’s a liberal when we are going over ‘their’ tax return)
I’ve used it frequently in the Brexit thread with regards to a different party.
Well after watching most of the Democratic debates I’m completely won over. Let me try out my new thoughts.
Las políticas demócratas son brillantes. No veo cómo podrían fallar con líderes así. Mis ideas conservadoras eran insensatas. Únete a mí o morir!
It’s certainly ‘terrified of the libs’ enough. You’ll make a good woke zombie.
Well, to give credit where it’s due, I stole the “join me or die” line from an old Simpson’s episode where Homer found a Japanese detergent box with his likeness on it at the city dump.
Of course I now understand how that episode is both racist, classist and perpetuates oppressive power structures through cisnormative rhetoric and hateful stereotypes of Asian marketing techniques.
How could I have been so blind?
Your privilege blinded you, as it always will. REPENT SINNER!
Now that my personal nightmare of exercising independent thought is over I am looking forward to repeating the correct opinions, as everyone should. I now understand how my privilege renders me unequipped to form ideas that are in my interest.
It is best to leave such matters to my betters in Washington, Hollywood and Silicon Valley. Without their brilliance and heavy handed rhetoric to put me in place I would certainly stray from the herd and remain an obstacle to progress.
Clear from last night that people will target Biden which makes sense as he’s the front runner. Will be interesting to see if any significant movement happens as a result of these two debates.
Still really early in the process and a lot could happen.
I almost feel bad for the guy… Sanders seems to have done poorly. Getting rich hurt his credibility and he cannot defend it. I haven’t hammered the nail in Sanders yet, but I think he has peaked.
