Many of these legal gambling stations are designed to short circuit your capacity to reason. Physically, they did do all those things, but their brain is not exactly acting rationally.
WRT gambling, there has been a myriad of avoidable miseries since it was liberalised.
Note: I am not saying you can eliminate gambling, merely noting that governmental license for gambling has increased avoidable misery.

This is true, and some of those things might be justifiably legal, but that’s not to say that is necessarily a good argument for making something else legal, at least not by itself.

You made a point that if it is illegal, then enforcing it is just enforcing the law. Then I made an assertion that the other examples of enforcing the law (murder, robbery) that you gave are different than being gay because they impact others who don’t consent. I was saying I don’t agree it should be illegal and here is why. How did I not follow?

Agree it’s like saying pot should be legal, since alcohol is legal. We are assuming alcohol should be legal, which it maybe should not be legal.
My position is that both should be legal along with gambling, since I am kinda of a libertarian when it comes to laws. I think if there is not a good reason (impacting others who don’t consent) for something to be illegal, it should remain legal.
Hard drugs I am on the fence about, but haven’t heard many good arguments for or against (by my judgement).

Possible donations, press time, etc. I would assume the Republicans are going to run a lot of people in 2024. Just makes so much sense in the age of social media to help build your brand.*
