Obama himself was the enemy. Trump provided an enemy.
Haha - yeah Naval Reserve and still couldn’t pass a test for his 1x a month obligation.
Also worth noting that the guy only got into the Naval Reserve on a waiver as he was 40+ y/o when he joined. I want to say he was 43, but I’m certain he was 40+ and I wonder who pulled those strings?
You can bet it was Biden Jr’s stab at building cred for a political run himself.
All kinds of great Robotics and Automation stuff going on up your way, thanks to Duquesne University, as well.
Well @thunderbolt23 I do see your point and I’m not here blindly supporting or defending Trump.
But I think you might be taking his debating skills lightly. You don’t have to love or even slightly like the man to admit he handed every single Republican & Democrat their asses in the last go round of debates.
Not being a smart ass here, but did you watch the debates? Asking in all honesty, because if you didn’t watch the speeches and maybe only heard sound bytes of Trump, you’d have the wrong idea about how he handled every debate.
To your point, Trump held some advantage partially because he had nothing to defend in the political world but, political records aside, his whole appeal to many was the in your face, blunt “New Yorker” in him which resonated with many.
You also have a strong case for Trump losing the stage, if its a fresh and well liked opponent who’s done their research and prepared according…but, I just don’t think that’ll be Biden.
Trump might have some white house performance questions to defend currently, but Biden definitely has performance issues to defend. At this point he’s lost much steam with the Left (he isn’t Left enough for many now…) for obvious reasons, the Right won’t take to him and I say the Libertarians + middle of the road Americans won’t really like his past record starting with Iraq vote, to his silly meddling in the “war on drugs” and so forth.
Yeah! CMU has been a hotbed for that for a long time too. I worked for a local automation/robotics Co. for a while some years back. It was some cool stuff but without any formal training in electronics I kind of felt like a fish out of water.
Me either when I say this, @schluck_specht…
I saw most of the “debates”…and what Trump did was not debate…but had what were a series of “Drop-the-MIKE/Your Momma’ so Ugly…” moments…that to his credit worked.
Debate comes when one has clear policies to debate…and now almost through his first Term (I think he wins a second); he has no clear and consistent policies.(HE often states that he “goes by his gut”).
Again…this appears to work for many Americans…so Trump has no real need to change what “works”.
Damn…I said Duquesne but it 100% is Carnegie. I need a robot for my brain bru…haha
Yeah I had to ask Bolt that question.
In all honesty, a dude in my old office (a younger millennial type) just watched looped youtube recordings of Trump being paraphrased while apparently “making fun of retards” stuttering, calling for raw violence and so forth. Of course, he did something kind of similar to all of those things, but taken out of context they seem completely different than they actually were.
Got to love our MSM
That is what I am trying to do…put things in context.
Trump’s rallies, speeches, and “debates” ARE within the broader context of words meant to attack, deride, belittle, and Twitter-slam.
This has nothing to do with some sinister manipulation by the “MSM”.
Right…I didn’t think you were doing anything other than that, nor am I debating you.
Technically you are correct, some of the moments we’re discussing weren’t “debates”…they could be rally speeches, toasts or even I guess “roasts” of his opponents…but there were also real debates. During the campaign he definitely did debate , esp other republicans and later Hillary.
To acknowledge the Hillary debates then say
To me would mean you did very very little research on who the public perceived the ‘winner’ of the debates to be.
Iirc, even fox news polls reflected Trump losing every debate with Hillary. I mean hell, wasn’t the whole point of the Trump upset such that every number was trended against him?
So here we are, do you think any of the cellar dwellers are going to make a leap into Biden\ Bernie territory or is it a 2 horse race?

When does the first debate happen? Imo that’ll pretty much give us the top 4-5
I would like to see Yang make some progress. He doesn’t have a lot of the political creds and name recognition, but at least he is talking about policy and not apologizing all the time nor is he all “woke as fuck”. Though I don’t necessarily agree with his policies, at least he has material and isn’t perpetually apologizing for not being a big enough victim and he is pro-free speech… Which astounds me is even close to being a question.
To be fair, he also talks policy and gives updates on shit like the wall, explains what he’s working on next, and explains some of why he is doing some of the things is doing… And I think he’s funny as shit.
He says what a lot of people just think, that’s why people like him.
That’s not to say I like everything he says or the way he says it…Nor do I watch many rallies. But what I have seen was funny.
Did you just use polls from 2016 as a legitimate source? Was Trump winning not enough to convince people that MSM polls are complete BS. LMAO
Freedom Dividend attracts two types of people.
Degenerate losers who want get paid for not working.
Accelerationists who know that society is on the brink of collapse and see the “freedom dividend” as a way to stock up on additional ammo, for the collapse that the UBI will bring.
LMAO “YANG GANG!!!”
I agree with your assessment on his UBI policy, but at least it’s a policy. It’s something that can be discussed and looked at for its validity and applicability. And he is using data to back up his arguments. How novel in this day and age.
I like him on the left because at least he is focusing on the issues. He’s not on a perpetual apology tour or touting his ‘woke’ credentials.
I don’t really know what the other candidates stand for except abortion and anti-Trump.
But the left continues to eat itself. In England, a ‘woke as fuck’ trans group is taking the muslim community to task on it’s anti-LGTBQ++++++ stances. Two strong left wing forces drawing a bead on each other.
The Trans community, in my opinion, will lose. They will lose because they are taking on the Koran and most Muslims aren’t that flexible when it comes to that.
What this new generation of liberals have failed to understand is that Hillary had the backing of 2 presidents, one still sitting, all of Hollywood celebrities, 90% of the media and she still lost.
If they continue to play the ‘Russia did it’ or the ‘election was stolen’ and not look at the real reason she lost, they will fail in 2020.
They need a message, they need unity, they need to have a sense of humor and quit apologizing for being born. Then they may have a chance. But they have none of that, especially lacking is a sense of humor. People don’t want to feel bad and apologize all the time for things they don’t need to be sorry for. And it’s going to eat them alive.
She did get more votes.
