For anyone curious about this bizarre experiment called Lewiston, observe our mayor last week. The governor invited him to a White House party.
He couldn’t find a suit or a comb and made it clear to everyone who he represents. The only guy in the room not dressed appropriately.
What an embarrassment.
Is that still worth it? I thought the craze had passed. I am probably half (or less, boomer) of your guys’ ages but I do not understand how crytpocurrencies work.
I’m basically becoming Ted Stevens in 2024 when it comes to cryptocurrencies and AI. Old, confused, and unable to adapt my language to all of the new terminology.

JFC!! Even though it is Grandpa/Sleepy Joe, he still IS the current President of the United States and a person should dress up for the occasion! That guy looks like just some schlub picked out of a local coffee shop. He could actually be the barista, he’s just missing the stupid beanie/goatee, but I’m sure he drives the Subaru.

EXACTLY. He’s been called “mayor sweatpants” since getting sworn in. A friend of mine was the captain of our local women’s semi-pro basketball team. He showed up with the governor at the opening game wearing gym shorts, untied sneakers, and a ketchup-stained shirt while double-fisting hot dogs. He sat next to the governor, both on their phones the entire time. I sat directly above both of them and even was even pictured on local news.
We had one of the worst mass shootings in US history a little over a year ago and this dude was completely and totally absent from the public view until 3 or 4 days after it went down and the manhunt had concluded.
He’s a complete and total grifter who has simply learned the vocabulary he needs to use to achieve his grift.
Yep, and sadly for some reason that lack of professional appearance and Blaise attitude seem to be perfectly acceptable for community leaders/government officials in many liberal towns/cities. I would find it hard to believe mayors of most conservative town/cities would appear like that in public unless it was maybe a volunteer event or something. In my mind I don’t see the mayor of [just randomly thinking of places] Chattanooga, TN or Lubbock, TX wearing sweatpants and a “ketchup-stained shirt”…sheesh, that is awful.
Most citizens in Lewiston don’t like him at all. He is in power because non-citizens (immigrants) and non-residents (Bates College students) are empowered to vote in our elections through the absence of any process security.
He looks like mentally he never left that college. Well, mentally and by how he presents himself in public. He looks like he yearns for the good ol days of playing hacky sack in the quad, or jammin with his buds at the local [not corporate] coffee shop lol.
That’s always been my impression of him.
It is like the dude I met at Bonnarroo music festival in 2003 who was simultaneously selling magic mushrooms and dry socks has become our mayor.

I’m a total moron when it comes to crypto; I understand zero, nada.
Bitcoin is now available as an ETF, so if one loses money investing in it, it’s lost “legally” (LOLLL), if that makes any sense.
I also think the craze has passed, the easy money has been made; but, I also think that at least for the next 4 years, the floor is rock solid. In my amateur (wrt bitcoin) opinion, it will at the very least, perform equal to the indices. (and the only indices any average American should invest in is either QQQ (“riskier”) or the SPY (“safer”). My .02.

My sources from the internet tell me that the key to cryptocurrency investing is to get in on the ground floor. That’s why I invested $5,000.00 in the Hawk Tuah girl’s new medium of exchange.
The die is cast. My plan is to not learn anything about it for the next 5 years, then check in on my investment. Wish me luck.

Serious post -if you want to try to understand the new developments in the new world, listen to the All In podcast on YT. One of the guys on there just got named as the “AI and Crypto Czar”.
I actually like Hawk Tuah girl. She seems like someone who just got caught up in a particularly strange whirlwind that was inconceivable when we were her age. She seems like a genuine and pleasant enough gal, even if I wouldn’t advise other women look up to her.
I’ll give it a crack.
