I once had fugu - was tasty, but I was indeed a bit scared. Until I had eight cups of sake with it (with a fin dipped into it - nice touch). That helped a lot with the fear. 
But - it was a licensed restaurant. If I remember correctly, they need to hand over the poisonous parts to the authorities - as we see for a very good reason…
