Please Shoot Me... North Korea

241 Marines; 58 French Paratroopers; and 6 civilians killed.

You don’t have to go back to the 60’s and 70’s, Zecarlo; because Trump will give you almost a daily dose of racial divisiveness…

What about his fond wish that more people would immigrate from Norway… (to which the Norwegians essentially said “No way in HELL”…or the opposite of Valhalla…or wherever bad Norwegians go when they die…)

Or his welcoming of the Washington Capitals to the White House while collectively calling NFL and NBA players Son of a Bitches?

He’s the damn POTUS…not some drunk hanging out in a Sports Bar…

What you need to understand is the people who voted for him don’t really care about these things. That’s why there’s nothing really happening as a result (except for a lot of Trump’s friends pleading guilty I guess).

It’s also why they were willing to execute fiscal conservatism, Christian values, and caring about abuse of power. Despite the never ending preaching the last decade.

Because she’s not Hillary.

Edit: I guess also because rich people wanted tax breaks and a very small population of Americans understood half the math

…or President Obama…

Well Obama is just a glaring reminder of the failure of the “conservatives” in DC. They had 6 years of hardcore disruption planned and well executed. Benghazi? Shit never let that die (until they actually have the power to bring charges). Vote no on everything Obama touches? Check. Stoke racial divides with our neighbors to the south? Check.

The red wave we currently have in Congress was all very carefully crafted YEARS ago. High ranking Republicans learned a while ago that you have to create FEAR in your party to motivate it to vote. Fear of Mexicans to the south, Muslims to the east, socialists and dirty liberals within. This country needed to be TAKEN BACK. We’ll probably never see the republican party that motivated to show up to the voting booths again.

Fast forward to now.

Taxes are slashed for rich people yet businesses are still dumping workers like crazy.
Temp and contract work is skyrocketing to cut employee costs.
Wages have stagnated yet inflation keeps truckin along.
Absolutely no fix for our HC disaster in sight.
Terrorism 0% closer to being “exterminated.”
Confederate statues are coming down with a speed that would give even Bernie whiplash.
Enough Russian connections and guilty pleas to make even my family get itchy (the ones that lived through the Cold War, that is).
Abortions no closer to being illegal.

Most people have become 1 or 2 issue voters at this point. Given taxes are slashed and most people saw an “increase” that doesn’t even outweigh inflation vs stagnating wages. If Dems send up someone who doesn’t want to send troops back to the ME, what topics does the GOP have left? Serious question. Without a boogeyman, you have to actually produce results.

Exactly. Everyone’s playing the long game except Trump.

Incidentally, a very telling sign is how much Trump dislikes democratically elected leaders in the West - just look how he treated May, Merkel, Macron and Trudeau during the G7 meeting. For all their flaws, and they have a lot of them (understatement of the year), there’s one thing going for them - they’re not dictators.

But Trump is simply gushing for praise from every tinpot dictator there is while denouncing allies at every opportunity. Even Canada.

Canada.

He made up for it by having Clint Eastwood invade that superpower known as Grenada.

I am still freaked that Anthony Bordain offed himself.
Another reason not to shoot you no matter what you feel is wrong.

Him

Who is him? Him=trump. Trump is the focal point forever and always when at all involved in a situation.

The OP mentioned trump, Xi, and Kim. But a majority of this thread appears to be focusing on Trump…hmm

Mufasa,

Tell us why Xi decided to have kim “fix this mess”? What motivated Xi to do this in 2017/2018?? Why didn’t he do this in 2016, 2015, 2014 …you get the idea

What prompted Xi to push Kim?

Extra credit if you don’t mention…him.

I’ve posted my feelings on “why” already.

And you know what’s even more mind-boggling?

Trump has yet to direct publicly the amount of name-calling, vitriol and negative rhetoric and Tweets at Putin that he has directed at Allied Leaders.

I honestly believe that Putin has Trump by the balls about something…

What that “something” is maybe time will tell…

From Susan Rice…(one of the Rights Favorite Targets):

"For the president of the United States to blame his predecessor rather than to understand Russia is our adversary.

“Russia has taken on behavior that’s absolutely reprehensible, including being responsible for shooting a civilian aircraft out of the skies and killing hundreds of people.” “For the President of the United States to suggest all is forgotten, that that doesn’t matter, that we are fine with one country annexing another country’s sovereign territory and we should just welcome them with open arms back into a community of democracies is outrageous.”

(…5,4,3,2,1…countdown for killing the messenger and ignoring the message…)

Hey, Reagan won in Grenada…where’s that on a map again?

About 90 miles south of Key West. It wasn’t the Grenadians we were fighting, it was the Cubans who also took American hostages. The hostage crisis prompted the military action.

So is China. BUT (and it’s a big BUT) compared to what the Russians i.e. the USSR used to be, they are down right bed fellows comparatively.
Yes, they are still assholes, but they are not the assholes they once were. That’s important to keep in mind.
Now bolstering Assad and his ilk is inexcusable. Extricating Russia from that situation now is damn near impossible. Just remember how they got there.

Not only that, but Larry Kudrow in that rambling CNN interview for the first time publicly disclosed the real enemy of Trumpites - " Western Allies".

In their deranged mind, it’s just one long con - NATO, EU, the concept of liberal democracy that defined the West post WW2, everything was supposedly designed and created by liberals to weaken, rob, and destroy America while those non-US Western elites hypocritically laughed in the faces of successive POTUSes claiming eternal friendship.

It’s like a Pravda editorial mixed with an ISIS pamphet sprinkled with some Infowars.

Brits, Poles, Danes, Ukrainians, even Estonians with their tiny army brought their soldiers from Iraq in bodybags. While they had misgivings and believed GWB’s invasion was a terrible mistake, they sent their men nevertheless, to show their commitment to their erstwhile ally.

And what do they get from Trump? Insulting tweets and open threats of a trade war…

Or to quote the former Prime Minister of Belgium:

Depends on who runs against him. If it’s Hillary again, he’ll beat her like a red-headed step child, but I don’t think she will run again. She lost to Obama and Trump. If that’s not a hint by now, I don’t know what is.

Never the less, Trump will be gone sooner or later, so there is no need to panic. He’s a president not a king and despite what he thinks he is, that fact won’t change. There are 3 major branches of government.

Or if you prefer to give him what he wants, freak out…He likes that shit.

There were no hostages. And there were more Grenadian troops than Cuban.

You cannot talk about hostages of Grenada…
