Please Help Me Fix My Diet

So after reading Shugart’s latest blog, I’ve decided that its time to do something about one of the shitty meals in my diet. The meal that make’s my diet shitty is 3 glasses of skim milk. Could you guys give me sugesstions for a healthier meal with similair macros( 36g carbs, 27g protein, 1.5g fat). Also, money’s a little tight so please keep that in mind.

Tuna sandwich? That’s pretty cheap, right? Um…
Egg white omelet with veggies and a piece of fruit?
Oatmeal and a scoop of protein powder?
Small piece of lean steak and a small piece of sweet potato?
Chili? There’s a recipe for a bodybuilder’s chili on here somewhere…
Chicken, broccoli, and pasta?

Depends how much time you have to cook, really. And your budget, taste, other meals. I dunno. Hope that helps some.

Stop measuring out macronutrients of meals, especially when you are going to bicker over 0.5 fucking grams.

Have 4-6 meals a day, pick from these foods: chicken, oatmeal, protein shakes, eggs, beef, fish, green vegetables, sweet potato, brown rice

Measure out sensible portions (E.g - 6oz, 8oz, 1 cup, 1.5 cups, 1 eggs, 2 eggs etc.) and increase/decrease them as you need to gain muscle or lose fat.

Here’s an example of fitting a diet to suit you:
If you feel bloated after say a meal of oatmeal/protein shake, drop the oatmeal and perhaps have Bran Flakes and see if that makes you feel better.

It really is that simple, anyone else telling you otherwise are either:

a) trying to sell you something, or
b) trying to make themselves look smart (when they most likely lack a lot of common sense).

The end.

Dude…come on…3 cups of skim milk? HAHAHA

Listen to the above poster!!

I dunno, if you’re trying to get something that’s got carbs and protein, and is cheap, then skim milk is a pretty awesome idea. Unless you’re lactose intolerant.

I mean, you could do rice or oatmeal and egg whites or chicken, I guess. Just depends on how much you like chewing.

Don’t listen to Shugart’s nonsense. Calories and macros are all that matter, contrary to the bro wisdom thrown around on this site.

What did Shugart say anyways?

I can understand why you’re clueless about what to eat. After all, there are only hundreds of articles, thousands on the internet, and hundreds of cheap books and magazines on nutrition in stores.

What the fuck?

All the bigger guys at the gym I’ve talked to literally laughed at me for asking about what macros/calories I should have.

And after following their advice I can definitely see why they laughed.

The only thing I would ever follow with macros now is a rough idea of how many grams of protein I was taking in.

That is so true.

Thing is I did all the eat 6 meals a day (well, eating every 3 hours) trying to count macros and calories…and failed.

Some authors/gurus don’t even know they’re shit. They’re just regurgitating what they’ve heard also. They think our body is a machine, operating by the clock and by precise macro breakdowns. HA! Give me a break.

And to tell you the truth I’d rather be a fat fuck than measure out and count every single protein, fat and carb gram in every single bite I eat.

OP listen to this guy (and Bricknyce, he’s cool and knows his shit). Thats all the advice you’ll ever need UNLESS you plan on stepping on a bodybuilding stage.

If you are looking for a meal that is fairly cheap and easy, try this one:

3/4 cup black beans
1/2 cup cooked chicken breast or turkey
1/4 onion
spices (i.e. curry)

Dump all the ingredients in a frying pan and heat for a couple of minutes. Enjoy.

Comes out to 300 cals, 2 g fat, 34 g carbs (13 g fiber), 34 g protein.

But overall, I concur with Goodfellow: focus on clean foods, eat 5-6 meals a day and don’t obsess about macros.
