I’m from europe and I’m planning a trip to Toronto, here in lat october. And I need a little help with a couple of things.
First off, I need to find a descent hotel. It’s gotta be near the Pearson airport. I’ve found one for 70$ (US) a night. But if any know of any hotels that are cheaper, then let me know. And I’m not looking for some crappy place. It’s gotta be at least nice and descent.
Whisky-a-go go’s…you owe yourself a trip there, buddy. If you like Japanese food there’s a place called Japango near St. Patrick station. It’s good and not too expensive. Also, literally right across the street there is a place (can’t recall the name) that serves big-ass slices of pizza for cheap. You know what ? It’s pretty good too. I think the place has a tomato or something in the sign, either the word or an actual tomato.
You will probably have more fun if you choose a hotel downtown rather than at the airport. The airport is quite far. Unless you have a conference there, there is no reason to stay near the airport.
That being said, it’s tough to find a nice hotel in toronto for less than $100 per night. Why don’t you decide where you want to stay and at what price and i’ll recommend something. I’ve stayed in dozens of hotels in toronto.

Probably Amato’s, they have a few places. One not far from me and they are good. Big Slice is on Yonge at Gerard, huge slices but not as good.
$70 is damn cheap for here, the only places like that downtown are the motel/hostel type places. They’re not bad and that time of year should be ok. I’ll look up a few names as it’s been a while since I’ve had to stay in one, ha. Though they usually have shared bathrooms and stuff like that, so that’s something to consider.
If you’re near Pearson you can easily take transit( TTC) downtown and it should take about an hour.
The weather here that time of year is usually great, highs of high teens to low 20’s few bugs and the air is a lot cleaner.

I agree - don’t stay near the airport or you’ll be stranded in the middle of nowhere. If you can stay downtown, definitely do that. [/quote]
Pearson is hardly the middle of nowhere. I used to work there for 2yrs and commuted everyday. It took me no more than an hour from Little Italy and the bus runs 24/7. Do you live in TO, cuz it doesn’t sound like it?
