Don’t get me wrong. I actually love the smith machine for a lot of things and am contemplating putting one in my home gym.
My criticism is that the culture the company promotes does not lead to the results and changes a gym membership should lead to because it doesn’t nothing to address the root cause of why most people are looking to go the gym in the first place. I used to go to PF a lot with my wife on cardio days. Rarely did I see anyone in shape there.
I think what’s more likely is people will start to take matters into their own hands. Which is unfortunate, but is the logical next step. This time someone snapped a picture and lost their membership. If that’s the case why not just punch him in the face instead? I’m not condoning it, but that’s where we’re heading with a lot of the “woke” stuff. Vigilante justice.
I agree, and would be curious to see how both self-defense and defense of another will begin to factor in, for states who allow such a thing.
As I’ve stated many times in other trans threads on this website, I don’t care if some dude wants to play dress up, but he is a dude at the end of the day. And I wouldn’t be a happy dad or husband if this shit was happening in a locker room with my wife or daughter. I would certainly feel like they were under threat of escalation as well.
I don’t see protecting either of them as vigilantism, but I suppose some “tranny hunters” could materialize too.
I’m going to say the impact is positive. People join PF because they’re curious and it’s cheap, with no commitment. Most drop out, but some number of them wind up loving it. Those people will later look for gyms that match their needs as they grow.
I can see how you can view that a positive…
But i still wonder how their low membership fees over the years have cut independent gym owners off at the knees.
For some reason I picture you as Yosemite Sam whenever I read your posts. I think it’s your choice of words and the anger they convey, which I appreciate.
We’ve never been in the same place at the same time… He actually lives about 10 minutes from me. Never seen him in person though. He does get his TRT through my brother though.
Yep, that’s what happened to me. Started going to PF in highschool because I was sick of being fat and it was 10 bucks a month. Quickly out grew the capabilities of the gym and went to a mom and pop.
