I am moving soon and would like to find a serious gym in SD. I will be just E of Hillcrest, where the 805 meets the 15. I would prefer a place that has bumper plates, a GHR, and a reverse hyper.
Thanks,
Jason

Kegrice Gym
2210 4th Ave
It will be just south of Hillcrest. It is small but has a great atmosphere. There is a Reverse Hyper, the GHR isn’t the best (yet) but better than nothing. I think there is one set of bumper plates but there are some ways around that.
Most of the guys are either powerlifters or strongman competitors. There are a few highland games competitors who come in from time to time. I have checked out most of the gyms around and this is the best I have found in San Diego. There are guys who drive over 100 miles round trip to work out here.
See ya soon.

Gracias.
There is also the RIMAC gym at UCSD. I don’t know of any PLers there, but there are some oly guys and the place has a GHR and some good platforms and racks
I go to UCSD. Though I enjoy seeing serious lifters (as there are a lot of tourist students that pass through on a regular basis), the gym is too small in my opinion. I have hard times getting a good work out in some days just due to the crowding that occurs. I do believe that there is a gym in PB called World’s Gym. I don’t know much about it other than that I’ve heard some good things about it.
Avoid San Diego State’s gym like the plague, unless you enjoy gawking at hot chicks. It gets unbelievably crowded.
I second that.

Yeah, unless…
Oh yeah the eye candy is awesome. Just do cardio there.
