So, anyway…
Offseason…
Looks awesome but his chest still looks “too small” compared to the rest of his upper body in this pose imo
The narrow clavicles don’t help. But, yeah, his chest has a little catching up to do.
That’s about all, though.
My opinion, anway.

to be honest, once these mutants get to the level of all the guys you mentioned, it is hard for me to tell much difference in them.
I was asking because it seems so many people are going nuts over his size on websites like these. I am trying to develop an “eye” for assessing physiques at this level, i was just curious what others thought.
Traps look beastly in the new avatar pic.
As far as what 165statechamp is saying, about the only BBer’s who are worth mentioning against Phil that have him beat in the size department are Kai, Yates and Coleman. IMO Yates and Coleman in their prime would beat Phil everytime, but right now i dont even think Jay has the size to compete with Phil.
EDIT: In 2 years though i would say either Brandon Curry or Evan Centopani may be serious contenders for the title of Mr. O.
how tall is yates? Kai?
thanks for the compliment btw, somebody pm’d me and told me it looked like i had an extra ass on my shoulders, i guess that was a compliment…
Both are 5’10 i believe. But again, Phil is one of those guys that, while definitely being huge, has genetics that allow him to look even bigger than he already is.
Yates especially is just fucking super dense and built like a house, DESPITE his genetics that some would call less than favorable.

Case in point

Phils legs are great dont get me wrong. However im comparing them to the likes of Kai or Ben Pakulski. His legs dont blow you away as much as his upper body does. He’s got years and years to keep bringing up and thats fucking exciting.
Pakulski occasionally trains at the same gym I do. First time I saw him walking around I could not believe the calves I was seeing. Pics dont do justice

I know, theres so many incredible backs out there, Heath’s being among them, but i have never seen a back pic that could match the one i posted, not even from Ronnie.

God damn Yates had an awesome back! He looks like one of the “Muscleheadz” characters.
I saw Phil two weeks ago in Germany. Sorry but I wasn’t too impressed with his physique. Very round yes, but no width compared to Cutler. I fact, I saw him together with Kai Greene and Beyeke, and frankly didn’t see any difference: three little black guys with extremely round muscle bellies, like they’re inflated. Impressed I was with the dense and massive physique of Martin Kjellstrom. I prefer the density of Yates, Warren etc., who look like they’re made out of rock.
Please let someone explain to me what Phil Heath has more than Flex Wheeler had in his prime. Flex never won a Sandow…

Weaker competition?

Exactly my point…
Compared to Coleman, Yates and Levrone he is weaker competition.
C’mon, Phil Heath would have trouble placing top 5 in the 90’s. Dorian, Nasser, Levrone, Wheeler, Shawn Ray, Paul Dillett, Chris Cormier…
Who are the top contenders now? Branch? LOL Kai Greene? Sorta-LOL Dennis Wolf LOL Jay Cutler? Mega LOL Victor Martinez is the only one with the structure & shape, and even he can’t seem to come in condition consistently.

i didnt even recognize him…
In the past few years, he has experienced the death of his sister, significant financial set-back and is now getting a case built against him by the federal government that started with them putting him in jail for citizenship so they could build a case.

This.
Phil would not have an O win if he was competing against the likes of Yates, Coleman, Levrone and Flex.

While i cant speak for how these guys look in person, i agree with you that many of these guys like Phil and Kai do look “inflated” compared to guys like Yates, who literally look like if you poked them they would feel like solid granite.
