I think Victor could still give him a run because his lines are so darn purty, but really, as far as mass and shape combination go this guy is untouchable. I’m almost scared to see what he’s going to bring in 2010. There’s no way he can keep making these improvements year after year. Then again, I think they said the same about Ronnie so we’ll see what happens.

He is. Dex is short and used to compete at UNDER 220lbs even though I think he is just over that now.
I see Phil at least once a week at the gym and I promise you, he looks very bad in that picture compared to how he has been looking recently. It’s just not real looking.
Hope he does well this year, truly a nice guy and good for the sport.

Phil is several inches taller than dex, dex has a fuller upper chest, wider clavicals, more thickness in the back, phil may be bigger in some aspects e.g. arms and legs but because dex is more compact and he he looks fuller…we’ll see this year.
you really need to stand them both side by side to call it. i’m going to watch the 08’ olympia and re-check. Phil is going to keep filling out and Dex is not, however i don’t think he’s got him yet.

I got his training vid and I was very surprised…to find that he really isn’t that big. His overall look is about how he poses. He looks HUGE on stage and even when he was practicing posing, but he looked much smaller when they showed him actually training and wearing regular clothes. Of course, I could have an old video (The Titans video). He doesn’t have the thickness of guys like Johnnie Jackson.

I know I’m not being original, but it seems a good thing that “super-massive” is no longer conditio sine qua non. Larger is better, but not at the expense of proportion/aesthetics. Now if only they didn’t expect everyone to be dry as fuck with striations on their teeth…
I think his arms are too big for everything else. I mean jesus…his quads don’t look much bigger.
