Wow, you believe the UN! You believe that they scoured the countryside unimpeded/unhindered by the honest and upright members of the Baath party![/quote]

They were checking the sites that your best intelligence said contained the WMDs. You think they were led around on a guided tour? Shows how much you know about the actual process. The inspector convoy would speed around, U-turn, split up, etc. to prevent Iraqi informers from calling ahead and having people hide anything. Problem is, there wasn’t anything to hide because Saddam had no WMDs.

The hypocrisy of the administration and of all the safe-at-home chickenhawks is incredible. Intelligence from any source, no matter how low the credibility, is accepted if it fits policy; yet the intelligence from the source specially designated to actually verify the suspicions is dismissed, vilified, ridiculed, etc.

Face it: there was nothing that would have changed the administration’s mind. Non-existing ties with AQ, non-existing WMDs, lies, inventions, etc. That’s what was sold to the American people, and a large portion of you liked it so much, you keep clamoring for more. “Please Mr. President, keep inventing a reality where we’re Good Guys™.” Most noble and moral nation on earth, my ass.

I’m questioning why the UN, in your mind, is an objective entity. How do you know if these inspections even took place at all? Why are UN officials honest and upright yet Americans are evil and want to start wars?

In short, I don’t believe anything from the UN. This organisation, funded a LOT by American taxpayers, caters to 3rd world scumbags. Didn’t you hear all the applause when Chavez got to the podium and called our President Satan? The guy then went home and began establishing his ‘President For Life’ dictatorship, and BUSH is El Diablo?

This is the organisation you want to trust with anything?

Given a choice, I would trust the POTUS and even our Congress over bands of murderous thugs dressed up like civilised beings. Maybe you want to do the same?

I haven’t commented about the UN as a whole, I commented specifically about the weapon inspections done before you invaded.

Reports, videos, etc. No evidence exists to suggest that these never took place and were somehow “faked.”

Their results also agree 1:1 with the reality of what you found when your troops did the same inspections.

I haven’t commented on UN officials as a whole. It’s a ridiculous notion anyway; some will be better than others and you’ll find honesty and corruption just like you do in any other large institution.

Americans aren’t evil. Ignorant and easily deceived is a better description.

That’s my point. The same can be said of your current administration. There was nothing that would have changed their minds about Iraq and Saddam. They were determined to go in, no matter what facts and evidence said. The only problem was to manufacture and repeat enough lies to sell it to the public.

You celebrate being a sheep; you revel in being manipulated and lied to. Then you claim the moral high ground.

Yeah, they don’t automatically kiss US ass on all issue. Imagine that.

Satan presumes that Bush is intentionally evil. He’s just ignorant and greedy and does what he needs for his rich friends and daddy’s rich friends. The death and suffering he unleashes on the world is simply the result on badly thought out policies.

They’re both despicable assholes, but Chavez has little impact outside his country.

I’m talking about a specific mission, not about the UN as a whole for it’s entire history.

I guess it’s easier for you to simply dismiss everything out of hand; looking at things case by case is much too complicated.

Sadly, they let mental midgets like you teach kids. Sigh.

No wonder they can lie to you so easily. You eagerly lap up all the shit they lay down for you. I guess that’s what passes for moral and noble to you.

I’ll pass.

It comes down to who you choose to believe: third world dictators and those appointed by these ‘gents’, or your local President, PM, and so forth.

Why are you willing to ‘lap up’ what the UN says? What gives them any moral rectitude? Further, (a) one would hope that a President or PM would have his country’s interest at heart, more so than the representative (thug) from Tanzania, for example. (2) Members of the UN aren’t voted in by you. Why would they care about you or telling the truth to you?

Go ahead and trust the UN. Don’t be surprised if you wake up stuffed and mounted.
