I don’t think most people even associate Bieber with the hip hop community, to be honest.
That’s your perspective…but the music label went through great pains to ensure his cross over career when they had guys like Usher introduce him to the community that hadn’t been listening to him…and then appeared on many rap songs like Tyga’s latest.

YOU may not even be aware of that. I am betting tons of other people are.
I would think that the hip hop community would do its best to distance itself from Beiber. Nothing kills street cred like hanging out with a teen pop star doosh. Also, I thought Beiber was more of a wanna-be hip-hop personality. I don’t know a single guy, black or white, who listens to Beiber. They tried to make him another Timberlake but it just doesn’t seem to be going that well.

Youth in Hip Hop don’t give two shits about race anymore.

You don’t have to say that he hangs out with blacks for me to make that leap.
What leap? I wrote this:
.he is a white kid who has many black friends in the industry who many other white people would call “thugs”.

You then wrote this:
many of us think of that “lifestyle” as thuggish specifically because it IS thuggish

Which fucking confirms what I wrote in the first place.

I know what you said and I know what you eventually wanted to get to.
There isn’t anything quite as racist as a white man telling a black man you know what I am thinking better than I do.

I meant exactly what I wrote. Your own posts showed it to be true.

Have a great one.

This may be the biggest lie any father has ever told…like…ever.

Calling the black people Beiber hangs out with thugs does not automatically equal calling all black people thugs, or calling the only the black people that hang around Beiber thugs. For one, I would probably say, poser thugs would be a more appropriate term for both Beiber and his entourage. The world is full of them of all colors and status’s, wanting to portray a certain thug image.

Agreed…which is why I didn’t write anything like that.
, or calling the only the black people that hang around Beiber thugs.
DBCooper just called them thugs.

He is just mad because I knew he thought of them that way.

Environment will always trump everything else.

If i was a no-name wanna be rapper/pop star, why wouldnt i be out and about with bieber? It’s good for business
Gettnitdone wrote:
Hold on. He was recently photographed in an Atlanta night club chillin’ with Diddy and Rozay. Those two right there are far from thugs. Diddy is an egotistical businessman (legit though) and Rick “The Bawse” Ross aka Mr. Manboobs is a fake hustler who used to be a CO.

Real thugs wouldn’t want to be associated with Beiber, that would be absolutely detrimental to their street cred and image - two of the most important things that affect their cash flow. Diddy has already got it made and Ross doesn’t give a fuck because he knows a lot of people know that he’s fake (he’s actually putting out all right music as well). The biggest thug Beiber is hanging out with is his dad.
Missed this.

best post.

But I am willing to bet many people would still call Diddy and Ross “thugs”…and then claim they are justified in doing so if called on it.

You conveniently left out the part where someone referred to him as a 19 y/o kid doing stupid shit like 19 y/o’s are wont to do, and you then corrected him by saying that he is a white kid with many black friends…which SCARES MIDDLE AMERICA.

To me, there is nothing quite as racist as you erroneously pointing out that people have a problem with his antics because they are scared that this is what associating with black people will do to their lily-white, perfect little angel.

Sure, there are people out there who feel that way. You make the racist leap by lumping all of Middle America into that crowd, as if all “middle Americans” (which I can only assume is your idea of a synonym for whites) are worried that their children will be negatively influenced by hanging around blacks.

That is NOT what most people have a problem with in regards to Bieber. He engages in criminal behavior on a regular basis and apparently has no remorse for said behavior. THAT is the issue people have with him, combined with the fact that he is looked up to by a LOT of impressionable young teenagers. Only a racist would assume that white people who have a problem with him have one because he hangs out with blacks and not because he is a thug.

From you, that is one helluva compliment.

Why can’t you call someone who engages in and glorifies criminal behavior a thug? That is precisely what a thug is. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with criminality. The definition of “thug” is someone who engages in criminal activities.

What is your issue with me referring to Bieber or the people he hangs out with, many of whom have been present and participants in his illegal behavior, a thug?

Lower than starting a thread about whether or not you should stay on here due to some pedantic pissing match with Professor X?

Your facts are a little mixed up my friend.

Not a pissing match, it was a genuine question. PX claimed that I was dragging the forum down and wasn’t wanted here anymore. I asked the rest of the forum if they felt the same way and if they did I said I would leave.

So not quite the scenario that you described but I do think it’s time for gregron to hang em up for good.

It was a pissing match, which you clearly haven’t reconciled with yourself.
