Funny you’d say that.

Most people who “joke” about bieber hate and say its just for laughs are actually really upset about how he gets to race cars, smash brazilian whores and still retain their multi-millions without OD’ing once.

Seems to me this “joke” thread is full of people with way too much emotion going on.
Those transfiguration lessons at Hogwarts are really paying off b/c that had nothing to do with my last post. To take my comment about how you have no business telling anybody to get a life when you reside under a rock yourself and turn it into some vague nonsense about how any criticism of Bieber is ‘hate’ borne of jealousy was nothing short of magical.

Dumbledore would be proud.

You’re projecting quite a bit here, Professor, even by your standards.

There are probably some people out there who don’t like him because he hangs out with blacks. It is quite the stretch to equate that with scaring middle America.

Also, I think people are right to refer to some of his friends as thugs, because they are. Thugs, by anyone’s definition, is someone who engages in criminal behavior and glorifies such behavior. Many of the people who Bieber associates with are, by definition, thugs. That thug who was arrested for felony drug possession and then arrested again for felony vandalism while in jail? Is he not a thug?

Regardless, I think people are correct in criticizing Bieber’s behavior (as pointless as it is to even care about his behavior). They are also correct in at least partially blaming the criminal element that he is constantly associating with. Who’s to say who has been the bad influence on whom?

The " bullshit " race card doesn’t need to be played here. It’s just another rock/pop/rap star looking to get some negative publicity. It wouldn’t matter if him or his friends were white, black pink with purple dots this was bound to happen and 90 percent of America ( including middle America ) doesn’t give a shit.
LOL. The only reason America cares at all is because his crisp clean yuppi kid image can now be directly attached to a lifestyle many think of us “thuggish”.

He isn’t doing anything most of the guys I see around Houston wouldn’t be doing if they had the cash.
Again, you’re projecting here a bit. First of all, I don’t think “America” cares at all. A small, vocal minority cares, but it is YOU who are the racist. You have automatically assumed that “America” has a problem with Bieber because of his association with blacks.

And by the way, many of us think of that “lifestyle” as thuggish specifically because it IS thuggish. How else to refer to the behavior of people who terrorize their neighborhood by regularly driving at extremely high rates of speed through it, vandalize the homes of their neighbors, spit in the face of their neighbors, regularly display zero respect for the other members of the community, assault people, vandalize public property by spray-painting all over it, treat spider monkeys in an inhumane manner, use illegal drugs on motorized vehicles, bang hookers (who are nothing more than glorified sex slaves) drive under the influence, etc. etc?

Only an ignorant racist like yourself would look at the laundry list of shit that Bieber and his cohorts has been up to recently and then blame white America’s latent racism on the negative perception that people have of him. It’s beyond ignorant and beyond racist (two of your strongest suits) to even insinuate that white people or middle America or whatever term you want to use are sick of hearing about Bieber’s regular and, as of now, consequence-free breaking of the law because we are racist.

I’m surprised you aren’t over in the Trader Joe’s thread calling everyone racist for being surprised that a predominantly black neighborhood is against a TJ’s opening up and bringing an increase in jobs to the area.

And what the fuck does what people that you know in Houston would do with that kind of cash have to do with any of this? Totally irrelevant point, something you are famous for around here. Most of the guys around Houston who would do the same shit Bieber is doing would be subject to the same sort of criticism, especially if he were ostensibly a role model to many, many young, impressionable teenagers. If I had a teenaged daughter, I certainly wouldn’t want her associating with ANYONE who engages in the sort of activities that Bieber and his hangers-on regularly engage in.

Hold on. He was recently photographed in an Atlanta night club chillin’ with Diddy and Rozay. Those two right there are far from thugs. Diddy is an egotistical businessman (legit though) and Rick “The Bawse” Ross aka Mr. Manboobs is a fake hustler who used to be a CO.

Real thugs wouldn’t want to be associated with Beiber, that would be absolutely detrimental to their street cred and image - two of the most important things that affect their cash flow. Diddy has already got it made and Ross doesn’t give a fuck because he knows a lot of people know that he’s fake (he’s actually putting out all right music as well). The biggest thug Beiber is hanging out with is his dad.

Jesus.

I didn’t say what I did just because he hangs out with BLACKS. I used the word THUG for a reason because that is how many whites view the hip hop community…who he has many friends with.

Simply put, he is seen as a kid to much of society that had the hearts of most white teenage girls the world over. If you don’t think some fathers don’t pay attention to his hip hop ties I would think you are mistaken.

Nowhere did I write or imply that this reaction is just because he hangs out with black people…yet that is really all you saw.

I don’t think most people even associate Bieber with the hip hop community, to be honest. I know I don’t, and I don’t think any of my friends, many of them parents, think of that association. Most people just think he’s an asshole who does asshole things in asshole cars with other asshole people. That’s pretty much what the TMZ-style media puts out for consumption.

All I ever hear about with him is the trouble he gets into. Like the drunk driving/racing/drug thing. I don’t hear that and say, “that’s hip hop for ya.” I say “what a dick.”
flipcollar wrote:

That’s your perspective…but the music label went through great pains to ensure his cross over career when they had guys like Usher introduce him to the community that hadn’t been listening to him…and then appeared on many rap songs like Tyga’s latest.

YOU may not even be aware of that. I am betting tons of other people are.

I would think that the hip hop community would do its best to distance itself from Beiber. Nothing kills street cred like hanging out with a teen pop star doosh. Also, I thought Beiber was more of a wanna-be hip-hop personality. I don’t know a single guy, black or white, who listens to Beiber. They tried to make him another Timberlake but it just doesn’t seem to be going that well.

Eminem happened like 3 decades ago.

I’m very aware of that. I used to tell people that I thought Bieber would turn out alright because he had guys like Usher in his corner. Bieber’s making me look bad now. And I know his label wants him to seem credible in the hip hop community.

That’s why I said ‘most people’. Maybe I should have said most adults. I think most adults aren’t aware of what his label did to introduce/promote him. His target demographic isn’t exactly the 25+ age group. So most adults aren’t listening to his music, they’re seeing/reading pop-news. And I think the pop-news is portraying him as a sef-destructive, overgrown child with an invincibility complex, more on the level of Lindsay Lohan than anything else.

I could certainly be wrong about what the majority of people are seeing with Bieber, this just makes sense to me.

I wasn’t suggesting that race did have anything to do with it?? Unsure where you got that. Why I mentioned Timberlake, who has some of the best collabo’s out there. I was referring to Beiber solely. Music has always served to blur the cultural lines and bring us all together.

You don’t have to say that he hangs out with blacks for me to make that leap. Why? Because he DOES hang out with almost exclusively blacks, from what I have seen. So don’t come on here with your semantical bullshit and try to weasel out of this one. You deliberately used the word thug hoping that someone like myself would come in here and transpose black for thug so that you and your sophist ways could then jump down my throat about something that isn’t even the issue. It’s exactly how you operate, X, and you’re an idiot if you think I’m not smart enough to see right through it.

I know what you said and I know what you eventually wanted to get to. It’s what you do in most threads. You create a bullshit argument where there is none. Forgive me for skipping a step or two and getting right down to brass tacks. If your posting history on here weren’t so repetitive and predictable I might not have said what I said.

I’m an expecting father, X. I will have a daughter. I don’t plan on paying one iota of attention to the people she hangs out with or idolizes based on music. If she wants to listen to hip hop, fine. But I WILL have a problem with her hanging out with people who spit on their neighbors, throw eggs at houses, vandalize public property, piss in mop buckets, treat animals inhumanely, use drugs, drive under the influence, drive at unsafe speeds, etc. I will also have a major issue with her listening to ANY type of music that glorifies criminal behavior. Unfortunately, that eliminates most hip hop.

It is YOU who are making the connection between that and race. Who the fuck would want their daughter engaging in all the above behavior? No one. Who the fuck would look at a guy who doesn’t want his daughter hanging out with that element and then assume they are racist? A racist who is projecting, also known as Professor X.
