Actor Peter Boyle passed away earlier this week, from bone marrow cancer and heart disease.

He was, of course, on Everybody Loves Raymond for several years, and while he never had many lines, I think he played the character amazingly. Conveying so much with a look or a few words.

My favorite work of his is absolutely Young Frankenstein. A true classic by itself, it would not have been the same with someone else.

I doubt many people have heard of The Dream Team, but it has an awesome cast (Michael Keaton, Christopher Lloyd, and Peter Boyle.) as escaped mental patients. Boyle believes he’s Jesus and has some of the funniest lines in the film. If you’ve never seen it, I suggest it.

I’ve seen the Dream Team, and you’re right, he was excellent in that.

My favourite appearance of his was in Season 3 of the X-Files, in the Episode Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose. Definitely one of the best X-Files Episodes ever.
