Bad News Bears

I just saw the remake of the Bad News Bears. One of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time. Holy geez. Billy Bob Thorton is hysterical. No redeeming social value but it is one of those movies you laugh the entire time.

I suggest you see Bad Santa. It’s basically the same thing only much funnier.

I was not impressed with Bears. Billy Bob plays the same character which is fine by me, but jokes were few and far between and some scenes really dragged.

I felt bad laughing at the wheelchair jokes so much, but they were the best.

Oh yeah, and for the first five minutes or so of the movie, something was messed up with the theater’s screen. Everyhing was really stretched laterally and you could easily see the boom mike hanging from above in every scene.

I just saw it. It’s true that he does play the exact same character as in Bad Santa. Also, the plot is ludicrously hackneyed. However, it was still pretty funny. Shit like the “eye cancer” and when Thornton says “Hell, I’m doing pretty good, I haven’t payed for sex in years”.

It turned out that the actor who played the mexican kid was in the theatre with his entire extended family when I was there. They screamed in Spanish every time he came onscreen, which was hilarious.

I’ll have to rent Bad Santa.

I liked when they were singing “Cocaine” with the Hooters Girls.

and of course: " you can love baseball but it doesn’t have to love you back…it’s like dating a German chick".

That eye cancer bit was funny as hell.

When the kids start spraying each other: “Hey stop it! I said stop it! . . . That shit’s expensive!”

Hedo: Make sure to get the unrated version Badder Santa, but I have no idea what the differences are. Get ready to laugh your ass off.

Thanks Dude. Heading over to Blockbuster in a little while. Just told the wife and kids.

Excellent. But for god’s sake don’t show this movie to young kids lest they turn out like me. Twisted and evil.
