Bit of back iffyness going on. Fitting that tomorrow is deload lower body.

Was supposed to establish a 15 rep max. The set was shaky, I was super tired and didn’t get it done. I think I should be able to do about 20 with power jerks.

I was supposed to do one top set and 2 x 10 @ 70 kg. I could swear I reduced the weight but noticed halfway through the third set that I infact haven’t. I might be too stupid to lift weights.

Notes:

  • had to lift very late which messes with caffeine and food intake. It is what it is
  • I should be close to 20 reps with my usual power jerk technique.

Got a bit of a back pump. So I was happy to not go heavy today.

I doubted myself for a split second which resulted in an awkward 3rd rep. Evidently the triceps work is paying off though. Do we count that last set?

I felt fucking strong today! Going into this upcoming peak with a lot of confidence and motivation.
Back is a-okay again, which is encouraging as well.
Also diet is still working great and my training does not feel affected.

@simo74 well I thought that would make pull ups harder, haha. On a more serious note: I LOVE the approach this program takes on the weighted bodyweight stuff! Definitely forced me to abide some preconceived notions about what I can and should do.

Slept bad, was very tired and not in the right headspace (compared to yesterday)

5 @ 210 kg - huge PR. Even for deadlift bar this would have been a new 5rm

Meant to be a triple. I was spent after deadlifts honestly. Didn’t attempt a second time.

Notes:

  • despite the front squat disaster, I am very happy with this. The progress is phenomenal right now! Waist is noticeably coming in as well.
  • next week the peak is starting! If this cycle was any indication, I am in for some big PRs

Right now it’s going great. If this peak works as well as intended I have no choice but to stick with Max. Right now we’re only 8 weeks in of working together.

I was super nervous for those squats bc I haven’t done any low bar squats in months. Turned out ok but not easy either.

Notes: I woke up this night with some rather intense pain in my lower abdomen- No idea what is going on. It’s not intense anymore but hasn’t fully resolved either. I can see the doc on Friday. It’s uncomfortable but not intense.

I am quite disappointed with my top set. I rushed the setup and am not satisfied with my execution. It moved alright but I could have done a lot better!!

Log title change:

People who have been following for some time now know that the last title originated from the last time I was suicidal and (obviously) turned the ship around on that one. Life is no constant rose garden but I’ve put enough space between who I was at that point in time and who I am right now to justify the change.
There’s no guarantee that I’m not gonna end up back there. Wether I will or not, this is one of those experiences that formed me.
I’d like to never have experienced anything like that but at the same time I probably wouldn’t be the man I am today if it wasn’t for the hardship I experienced (through this experience and others).

Holidays are over. 4 hours sleep or a little less and a 10 hour day before this Session. Also because of a scheduling issue I’ll have to train 4 days in a row this week. And I’m still fucking unstoppable!!

Also I had to pick up and hold a preemie for the first time today. I braced harder than I would for a 200 kg squat and if I was the one attached to a heart monitor, I’m sure someone would have come running with a defibrillator.

Nah but I’m not good with kids and have no real connection there, so a lot of things surrounding handling them is quite terrifying for me. Unfortunately this isn’t optional.
