Works well for the vast majority of the bell curve presumably but it sucks for those of us that don’t fit neatly into cookie cutter templates.
You might notice it’s the opposite of what I suggest you should so with regards to negative thoughts but if you can stomach the hypocrisy then ![]()
Looks great. Pretty sure you will be cured by tomorrow ![]()
I’m not really sure what you mean by that.
I was saying that you should view the present as transient and have a more observer attitude when things are bad and not be skeptic but be positive when things were good.
Ah yeah I got it now. It’s kinda difficult when the issues persist for such a long time and you experience backlash after backlash though.
Yeah, when adversity becomes the new norm it’s like…
As a friend of mine said to me yesterday “you have to be so used to getting kicked in the face by now” as I was laughing some shit off.
Your friend’s statement is true. And still there is always something unexpected happening that’s an even heavier kick, haha.
But we’re gonna make it somehow some day. I am actually reading a book right now about a “new” form of treatment for chronic depression (chronic just refers to the duration in that definition, doesn’t mean that it’s not curable) that sounds kinda hopeful (CBASP). I’m not that far into the book though.
Started my internship as a nurse today. I’m not becoming a nurse, it’s a requirement for my physio education (probably in parts because it’s a state owned program and we have an ongoing crisis with too few nurses in our healthcare system). Anyway I could certainly live without it, especially since that means I’ll have a whole month of no income… well and the whole me not feeling well situation but whatever.
So yeah pretty tired today and also my legs aren’t feeling fully recovered.
1 deadlifts
2 x ? @ 60 kg
5 @ 100 kg
1 @ 140 kg
1 @ 170 kg
1 @ 190 kg - from here on it’s coach’s attempt selection
1 @ 205 kg
1 @ 215 kg - PR (+ 5 kg)
1 @ 225 kg - PR (+ 15 kg)
2 push jerks
3 x 3 @ 80 kg
3 box jumps
3 x 3
4 lat pull down
3 x 10 - light
Notes:
- I was debating the whole day if I should even go in today. I felt mentally down, sleep deprived and not ready at all physically. But in the end I decided it’s probably going to be worse for me mentally to skip than to take the risk and try. Warm ups then felt off and I was pretty fucking doubtdul.
- went ape shit on the higher weights though and gave it fucking everything I had.
- back position wasn’t perfect at all but I also did way worse at lower weights before. Despite that I still think I might have had 2,5 - 5 kg more in me.
- 15 kg PR and after half a fucking year of rehab work! I’m proud of that.
So the only one thing left to say is: Pay up! @TX_iron @mr.v3lv3t … wait we did bet money, right?
Great job! It was really great to see such a positive reaction after the 225 attempt.
Hell yeah dude, nice work! I don’t think we put any money up, but I certainly owe you a stein next time I make it overseas ![]()
Good work man.
Bet that felt good
Hell yer mate. Great work and loved the vid. Quality
Oh yeah!!! Blistering PR! Great work!
@Koestrizer is clearly a platinum level member of the stress pr club
Happy for you big fella. Think you can leave your injury behind u now. I find with training, especially during tough times, you go in to get as much as you can done but isa not beneficial to get emotionally invested in the numbers or performance on any given day nor write off a day before you’ve even begun (even half-way through bad signs can still have a good sesh)
Legit put a smile on my face, that reaction to your shiny new PR!
Fantastic work @Koestrizer! Very well played my man. You won fair & square lol. Ditto to what @mr.v3lv3t said, when I make it to that side of the pond I owe you a koestrizer beer or three.
Thanks a lot everyone, I greatly appreciate the support.
@caesium32 it was pretty much make or break in my head. Was quite happy to make it and not break, haha.
@mr.v3lv3t too bad, but I’m always up for beers! Stein is still a super werid word too me (because it exists in German but it means something completely different, haha)
@dagill2 oh yeah it did!
@simo74 cheers mate!
@alex_uk thanks man!
@anna_5588 very true, haha. Your comment actually made me think if that is a positive contributor to my gym performance. A quick look back shows however that it is not. It just doesn’t ruin my performance as much as it should in theory.
@guineapig thanks mate, I absolutely agree with both statements.
@Cyrrex thank you!
@TX_iron haha I haven’t had one of those in a while, so it would be the perfect one to raide a toast with you.
Over in my neck of the woods it’s mostly used to describe the shape of the glass haha. Glad the message wasn’t lost in translation.
