Can’t throw away all those calories

I cook mine in a pressure cooker. Peel super easy even a week later. I cook a dozen at a time, and its crazy quick. Throw 'em in, set the pressure low, set a timer for three minutes as soon as it starts venting, and take it off the heat.

Peel in 5 seconds. No shit

Put vinegar and salt in the water. Don’t put the eggs in until you’ve got a hard boil going. When they’re done, I cook mine 15 minutes, cool them of quickly with cold water and ice. My shells usually come off in two pieces.

hope everyone realises this is from 2 months ago

What are you trying to say, the eggs have gone bad by now?

You don’t need to cool them as long as 15 minutes though, 5-6 minutes in the boil and they should be done

I prefer the term ripening to spoiling

The eggs are ripe.

Supposedly if you put 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in water while boiling they’ll come right off. I haven’t tried it.

I tried the baking soda trick. It has a very small effect on the eggs. I found the easiest method for me was steaming for around 9-10 minutes, then dunking in cold water and leaving in the fridge until I can be arsed to peel them.

Extra benefit of steaming the eggs was that they don’t explode like some eggs do in boiling water.

I had salmonella a few years back so I ā€œcookā€ them at least 15 minutes. I will do 48 at a time to pickle so I let them sit in cold water until I feel like monkeying with them.

I bought a rice cooker with a basket, if i put 3+ eggs in there, when the rice is done, the steamed eggs are cooked and the shells peel away like MAGIC.
