Patriots and the 'Eff You TD'

Or showing the rest of the league that he doesn’t need to “cheat” to win.

Oh, and let’s not forget the 1998 Vikings…41-7 vs washington and 50-10 vs jacksonville.

with how much HATE the pats and especially belichick have for the NFL in general IF they do loose-to anyone but ESPECIALLY the colts- I expect them to go bezerk.

Why does everyone think the patriots hate the NFL?

Score alone isn’t enough to diagnose a case of running up the score. I don’t remember those games; the Vikes very well may have run it up. But the Pats very definitely did.

I did agree with Belichick on that 4th down near the goal-line: What are you gonna do, kick a FG? They ran it up the middle, and still picked up the first. That’s Washington’s problem, not their’s.

And again, I personally don’t care that they ran it up. If I were a Pats fan, I’d hope they toned it down some, b/c you don’t gain anything from it, and it really is a possibility that some team down the line will get fed up with it, and start taking cheap shots at NE’s star players.

When you’ve obviously won the game, get your first unit guys on the sideline and save them the wear and tear. If they’ve only got to play the equivalent of 12 or 13 games during the season rather than 16, then you can save them from taking a lot of punishment. Why not take advantage of it rather than play the bully? It’ll certainly come in handy in January.

Just look at belechick when he talks to the media for instance. Like when he was question about going 4-1, saying like ‘what do you expect me to do kick a field goal’ the way he presents himself is like he is after blood-and it shows with each game-

Also I remember Brady going nuts when team had a false start in the end zone, they are just an angry team getting revenge on the NFl after the whole embarrassment of spygate.

Yes there defense is average, take off those Pats glasses por favor.
What makes there defense great is the offense, the defense is only out there 25:44 minutes a game or less. All there linebackers are collecting social security checks already.

Think about it, the horrid Miami Offense scored 28 points on them. The only real team they have faced is the Cowboys and even they where no match. Im not saying there not good, they are average at best and you know it. When your offense can score 34 points a game, your D is allowed to take risk and show exotic coverages or blitzes.

They have not faced an average offense team besides the Cowboys and the Bengals (look at the Bengals now, they cannot even beat the Browns ). Do not even start with the Chargers because they where off kilter the first 3 games. They have an average D, with Vrabel and Samuell leading the way, which by the way are some awesome players.

If your Pats D shuts down the Colts to 21 or less then those Pats are going 19-0 this season, till then its all offense and the D will be exposed this Sunday my friend.

Soo… because BB isn’t a people person that means he hates the NFL? Just because his persona is not friendly outside his team I don’t see how he has some internal hatred for everyone. As for the 4-1, WHY would they not go for it? Washington was getting shut down all night long, so they really had nothing to fear.

As for Brady… Are you serious? He’s extremely competitive… that makes them an “angry team”? Can you name one player in the NFL who has something bad to say about Brady’s character?

  1. You say the defense is only out there a short time. This is true. However, how the HELL can you attribute that to offense only? Wouldn’t their defense be out there more if the other team actually could get some first downs? Your own logic betrays you. Look at the defensive stats…

2)The Bengals (even with their bad performance lately), the browns, and the cowboys are all ranked top 10 and some top 5 for total points, total yards, and pass yards. HMMM… You can bring up weak schedules but then again more than half the league isn’t doing shit on offense.

Its a very scumbagish thing to do. First they get caught cheating and now they’re going for it on 4th down up by 37 points on the redskins? Give me a break. Have some dignety.

I NEVER hope that another player gets injured, even if it is a cowboy, eagle or patriot but in this instance I almost do. Belichick is still playing brady when the score is 37-0 in the 4th? Thats just stupid and irresponsible.

I think its needless to say that I’ll be rooting for indy this weekend.

Once again there good defense is a by product of there great offense. Yes the other teams offense should get first downs, but there game-plan changes especially when your down 14-0 in the first 8 minutes of the game. They get into opponents heads.

Like I said the defense is good but there offense makes them look great. Lets just wait till Sunday and we will see, even though I think the Pats will take it 45-31.

Predictions anyone?

Team stats are meaningless without context. You can have a good defensive unit and still rank well down the league list if your offense can’t put together any drives. The defense gets tired and gives up a lot of yardage in the final 20 minutes of a game.

Likewise, if you have an awesome offense that can grind out long drives and take a lot of time off the clock, it’s going to keep a defense fresh and allow it to take more risks.

The personnel and the schemes make a defense good or bad, irrespective of stats.

DB

Finally someone who understands the game.

Thank you DB.

I hate how everyone hates on the pats for “cheating”. Please, you must hate on a lot of teams because come one, almost every team has their way of getting the upper edge, the pats just got caught. I’m a packers fan, but I love the pats and what they are doing.

In my eyes they are not cheaters and now they are showing everyone that they aren’t. Screw all you pat haters and your ignorance, they are an amazing team with a point to prove and they are damn well doing it. Until they play the packers, then well they need to suck horribly…

No other team has stolen others defenses signs using video cameras. I’m sure everyone has ways to get ahead but what the patriots did was a clear cut violation of the leagues rules. There was no grey area there. I used to respect belechick.

I don’t think anyone who watches the NFL thinks that the pats are not a great team but running up scores on opponents is not classy. Besides the best part of that team is not pretty boy brady, or moss its their offensive line. Give the guys doing all the work their credit, that offensive line is amazing.

Agree with this. Colts too. Brady and Manning rarely see the kind of pressure most other QBs do around the NFL.

How do you know that the Pats are the only ones to do that? Hell, 50% of the teams could be doing it but not be getting caught. Same thing as steroids. How many pro-athletes do you feel do steroids? Im leaning towards a somewhat large to moderate percentage, but very few get caught.

This is true and I can fully respect that. But the classy part, who cares, it’s the NFL not some little league in-town football league. You are there to beat the piss out of the opposing team and make sure they have no pride left what so ever. Make sure you send a message to other teams that you are no joke, and that if they aren’t careful it will happen to them.

The only part about running up the score that was bad was keeping Brady and their bigger guns in the game. They could have ran the score up, but at least did it without their big guns. I was an offensive lineman so I know how the line gets absolutely no credit. But without Brady, Moss, Welker, Maroney and Watson there would be no scoring. Granted the o-line is pretty good, maybe an understatement, but without those offensive guns that o-line means nothing. You could give the eagles a great o-line but they would probably still suck balls.

P.S. What about the Eagles vs. Detroit game??? No one made a huge bitch fit about that game. This just all comes back to the fact that sour little bitches need something else to whine about with the Pats. Or even the Washington vs. Detroit game? Granted they weren’t up by 45, but they were both up by more than 4 touchdowns.

Because the pats have been accused of it countless times in the past but never got punished until now. You do not hear about other teams getting caught. Steroids, yea alot do it.

Well, no football is not about crushing peoples pride. I dont want to use words like douchebag because I think it makes my argument sound like one of a high school kid, but its the only word that comes to mind when I think of people who play for that reason. I know if the NY Giants were running up scores on people in the 4th quarter I would be pissed.

I disagree, any NFL caliber wide receiver is going to get open if you give him enough time and any NFL caliber quarterback is going to be able to make the throw to an open receiver if theirs absolutley no pressure.

Everyone has to nitpick this and that about the top team. In the end they are playing the game as one of the most dominant teams in NFL history.

Huh? Adalius Thomas? Roosevelt Colvin? Do you even know who their LBs are?

An overaged linebacker corps. Adalius Thomas is solid, but he’s not the same without Ray Lewis. There all solid, except Vrabel leading the way, he is one heck of a linebacker.

But honestly Junior Seau, Ted Brusci…bless there hearts. They leave it out there every Sunday, but they are a tad over-the-hill. The age part will be exposed on the latter part of the season.

And yes Daltron, they have a chance to be the greatest Dynasty ever if they pull out a perfect season, going 19-0. It makes for great football.
