That’s what an article on ESPN.com said a few days ago. I hope the idiot analyst who wrote that quit his job tomorrow. I liked how Brady got frustrated every time the Pats had the ball at their opponent’s 5 and mess up. An angry Brady makes winners out of the Patriots. Kind of like how Hulk smash puny humans.

Pats are an old team, old teams always play there best in the first 8 weeks. They are playing at a high level. Injuries will catch up to them watch and see.
There defense is very overrated, first it is full of old farts. Secondly one can run against them, but they are not tested because the offense always scores first. Leaving teams thinking they have to dump the run and start getting pass happy.
They are getting snobby. I sure can’t wait to see them walk of the field as losers in the playoffs, cause they will. So bring your popcorn.
But until then all you pats fan enjoy it while it last.
I pretty much totally disagree. First off, I’d venture to say that it’s OK to have a slightly overrated defense when you’re AVERAGING over 40 points a game on offense.
s for getting snobby… They’ve HAD the talent, now they have the motivation. Belichek has used this whole ‘cheating’’ vendetta to rally his troops and get them in that ‘Us vs. The World’ mentality (which is a GREAT move as a coach). In most cases, a team this dominant falters out of boredom and arrogance. Their anger will save them from becoming snobby enough to slip. These guys don’t want to win – they want to murder. And that anger and momentum could help lead them to a perfect season (god I hope it doesn’t…)
I’m not a Pats fan and would love to see them go undefeated into the playoffs and get knocked off in the first round, but I don’t see it happening.
I use to go to the games when they absolutely sucked (anybody remember Rod Rust as coach). When teams like the early 90s Bills and Dolphins had no problems stomping on the Pats. I can only think of this quote.
Mongol General: “Conan, what is best in life?”
Conan: “To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!”

I hear you… One game against the Broncos in the mid 90’s stands out in my mind. They were kicking our ass and they kept showing Shannon Sharpe flexing on the sidelines and talking smack. Man I hate that friggen Mr. Ed looking son of a B.
Loved Belichick’s press conference this week. “What did you want us to do kick a field goal” (in reference to when they were up 38-0 and went for it on fourth down)

“The Patriots haven’t beaten the Redskins in 35 years, and the Redskins are the only team Tom Brady has never beaten.” Someone mentioned those factoids to Gibbs and he was like “Well how much money are you going to bet on that?”
I don’t know any of my fellow Redskins fans who were even going to watch the game.

About the Pats.
They are now overrated, reported and it’s almost always a curse. It happened to the Cowboys 2 weeks ago. Sportscasters were talking about how great they were, then boom…shitty game.
Now, the Colts and Pats are “In a league of their own” (Steve Young).
It will happen soon. They will fail, they will soon have to face some adversity in some way…Murphy’s law… [pinky on mouth while grinning]
The Pats and Colts are in a league of their own. They are by far the two best teams in the NFL. Only other teams that I could see making a run for the super bowl is the Cowboys and Steelers.
I remember that game. I recall Shannon talking to the cameras. Saying things like call the national guard because there is a massacre going on in Foxboro.
Interesting note, folks ought to check out the scores from the Colts game the year Peyton broke the record. Those games weren’t exactly close either. Good/Bad, I don’t care. I am just happy to watch from great football after all those years of god awful teams.

daltron, 225lbs! Yah, RESPEKT!! Das is goot!!!
Did you smash the window and throw the weights in the pool?
Even Ahnold likes NFL, it is noht a girly sport.
Deh Governator picks Pahtriots to krush puny Colts by 16.
Check out why Ahnold doesn’t like Chargers from Kalifohnia

Enjoy,
Something I remember hearing about the Steelers dynasty from the Seventies (before my time) was that they were notable not for how they won the big games, Raiders, etc., though they won a lot of those, but for the fact that they annihilated bad teams.

Awesome blog. He is right about the Pats/Skins.
Here’s where I stand on the issue, Brady is a dick, Gibbs is a pussy, and Belichick is an asshole.
Yeah, they’re assholes for leaving their starters in after the Skins started to sit defensive players, but we’re pussies for letting it happen. Should Brady be throwing deep jump balls to Randy Moss when they’re up 42 in the fourth quarter? It seems pretty ridiculous, so why not get them to stop? Instead of going up for the ball why not just keep your feet and flip that country motherfucker on his head?
As much as I like Brady as a QB, I was hoping for a low blow to the knees and a torn ACL or the likes during the Pats/Reds game.
Why don’t you insert the #2 QB when your up 38 points? One bad hit to Brady and your season is gone, I was just hoping for it to teach Belicheat a lesson.
I mean really that is such a dumb move. The Pats look unstoppable and I do believe they will try there best to embarrass the Colts and they will succeed, unfortunately.
On a side note there defense is not very good, at best it is average. But that offense makes there defense great, by letting them take risks and keeping them off the field. They drive down the field for 80 yards and take 8 min. of the clock.
Only an injury can stop them now.
Use your head and go with Vegas on this one with the current odds. The Patriots will win with no problem on Sunday.
Easterbrook made a great point about this on ESPN. If you are getting your ass beat by the Patriots and they are running up the score, why not do something about it? If Belicheck is leaving Brady in to run up the score, max-blitz and put Brady on his ass every play until Belicheck gets the message and takes him out. So what if you give up some big plays, that’s already going to happen.
Then if he takes Brady out and you can’t stop Matt Cassell, well then you deserve to get the score run up on you.

Their defense is average? They are ranked 3rd in total yards per game, 12 yards from number one. They are ranked 5th in passing, 16 yards from number one. They are tied for 5th in rushing and 5th in points per game, roughly 3 points behind number one.
If their defense is average then I don’t want to know the kinds of expletives you would use in describing the rest of the league.
I have little sympathy for teams that are getting blown out whining about running up the score.
However, if the Pats keep blatantly running it up like they are, they’re risking some teams intentionally injuring their players.
NFL players have a lot of pride, and if you purposefully try to embarrass them like NE is doing, they will retaliate. And it won’t be pretty for the Pats.
Once the issue is clearly decided and/or the losing team waves the white flag, just run out the clock.
NE looks awfully petty and bush-league for doing what they’re doing.
As many TV analysts have observed, it really just looks like Belichick is getting back at the rest of the league after Spygate.
So it should be nice to see how the football gods get back at Belichick. Should be any week now…
