I need to be better about letting breaks be breaks but then immediately getting back into the groove. I will never see anything wrong in running away for a while, it keeps me whole. But when I am back I need to be back. Sore and busy sound like great excuses, but alas they are just that, excuses. I’ve been terrible about getting back in the grove the last two days. Yesterday all I did was spin and eat and work. Pizza can be run away food but not at home food. Today. Ugh. I skipped yoga. I hang my head. I did go to hula hoop class, but that’s little more then play. Especially after a lunch of grilled cheese sandwiches (yes multiple).
I tried to lift after. It was a disaster. 100KB swings in sad little 10/15 rep bursts. Then with no plan. I wandered into the only open space the squat rack. I literally couldn’t figure out what the motion was. I did a few BW, a few with the bar, then put some baby weights on the bar. Total fail. I’ve forgotten all cues, my left quad has decided not to function as part of my body. My ankle started to say hello. I literally walked away in disgust. I attempted some DLs but it was so crowded people were trying to step over the bar when ever I put it down. My quads were still freaking out. So I tapped. Ill go back and have a great session tomorrow but today it wasn’t there. I could only see injury in my future.
I am no longer playing in the woods. Tomorrow food will be spot on and I will have a lovely time at the gym. I’m counting on you all to shame me back into the groove, I need some tough loves, por favor.
Bamfs aren’t created with pizza and lounging. Get your mental game on tomorrow and kill it. It will make you feel better and clear the cobwebs from your brain. Those breaks and food goodies need to be deserved. I speak this with much experience

Throw yourself 100% into whatever you are doing. What I found was the ZONE. That area where time ceases, and the moment is EVERY F’n THING.
Got my ass out of bed at 5, went to spin and absolutely enjoyed it. Did a bit of yoga and stretching, and now am starting the day off with a shake.
I’ll lift at noon and then the groove will be back.

my hair is long-ish, but it’s dry and lame. I actually had a dream last night I was getting a hair cut by a man named Alex who worked out of a hotel, strange.

Good start to the day! Now keep it up. I find I make most excuses the week before Flo arrives. I’m just tired and hormonally challenged I guess. Mid cycle I train like a wolverine. Maybe that’s your problem?

Oh Lula, this is one of my forever goals and exactly why I enjoy lifting and BJJ. I have a lot of trouble being in the moment (I’m way better now then in the past), so the immediate effects of gravity or pain ground me. He puts it so well. Thanks!
