Thanks!
running outfit = win
its a good look for you.
great curves
maybe an epsom salt bath is needed
So you totally inspired me to do some running for my SS cardio day and I have come to the conclusion that running makes my glutes lazy. I dunno why, but when I run they turn off and do nothing.
I also came to the conclusion that I suck at running and need to get better at it ![]()

Try sprint intervals or bounding after a short warm up and then jog. Technique could be an issue with a dominant quad/hip flexor (that promotes the A step over the B step which would take the glutes out of the movement).
If you think about PULLING yourself forward with your feet, you’ll feel more posterior chain in the stride.
Patches, looking good girl!

Or run in 5 fingers.
Or maybe try doing 30 sec sprint intervals
do NOT wear those silly shoes.
do NOT work with Kettlebells.
do NOT take wooden nickles.
that is all for today, grasshopper.

Sprint sprint sprint! It’s the first 3 steps that make the glutes do all the work.
i love silly shoes!!
i heard running uphill is great for teaching you good sprint form.
but i don’t run at all so i know nothing.
Ugh. 4am and i can’t get back to sleep! I never can’t sleep
I caffeinated way too late.
So, Tuesday afternoon. I have class at night, so I had to go in the afternoon. It feels super weird to be at the gym at 5 then back again at 12. But, you do what you got to do.
Back to D1 Circuit
4 Cycle Circuit
Reverse Hyper x12
Band Pull down x 12
Single leg bridge x 12 ea side - it was crowded so these were off the floor. I couldn’t find a bench to use.
DB MP 10lb x 6 20x6 - no 15 was a available. I can’t do 12 at 20 so I went with 6 and 6. Once again. You do what you gotta do.
R Crunch x 12
Then I did some shoulder saver stuff. Robertsons’s circuite and YTLW. Partly because my shoulders are always sore, but most because hot ginger was doing bent rows and I wanted to watch.
Wends AM
I ran! You guys are great motivation. How can I skip running when it’s what my log has been about lately?
Got a whole mile of running in! It took 10 min, but I ran the whole thing. Then a bit of walking, then intermittent running and walking. Aim was 30 min and I hit it.
PM
Hula Hoop. Woo!

Thanks, they’re my saving grace.
Totally what I ended up doing. Baths. How I love the.

I don’t know that I pay attention to what’s activated or not when I run at this point
I just run. I’m running to get better at running, so I’m not paying attention to muscle groups. Should I be?
I think all the responses below can help though.

Uh, too complicated for me at the moment. I will revisit running technique when it makes sense.
Thanks!

Gravity always seems to increase around me…

I wear a minimalist shoe, but then I don’t know what I’m activating other than my lungs and desire to sit down when I run.
I think the key is to figure out why you’re running, Spock, if it’s for glute activation then sprints for sure.

Well the first two are just wrong.
What’s a wooden nickle?
According to google wooden nickles are going for like $55 a pop. I’ll take them!
Three strikes.
I think that means you’re out, Edgy.
Better luck next time.

I can sprint if it means I only have to go three steps! :0

Running up hill, sounds like a bad idea, way too tiring.

wow, your pretty good at running for not being a runner!
I was getting pretty good at jogging until I found out about my knees…kinda turned me off. But he said I can do it as long as it doesn’t hurt…but not everyday.
I loved hill sprints…good for the butt too.

Ahahahaha! That writer is hilarious! Love that “I loved running but it made me too tired” LOL.
Sometimes at the gym if someone is watching me doing something I know they perceive as gnarly, basically anything with the big plates I like to look at the weight when I’m done and say “why so heavy?” Usually good for at least a smile.
I loved lifting weights they just got too damn heavy.
Oh, I’m so stealing that from you!
I think I’m going to be friendlier at the gym. I usually have my bitch face on, but you guys seem to be all nice and friendly when you workout. I gives it a try!
Don’t get me wrong I TRY to keep on my MURDA! Face… but sometimes I’ve just gotta crack a joke. Plus there are people I’ve been seeing every day just about for over a year and bitchy would not be appropriate… oh, AND there’s some kids there I know from Whole Foods (LOL) and from my old roomate that I really LIKE talking too. I guess I take the bitch mask off and on…

Is a single 10 min mile pretty good?
That’s good news!
