I think you’re much closer than me. I don’t actually know what I weigh these days. After my waist gets back down into the mid 20s I’ll start weighing myself. I think my DL is going to be the easiest, then squat. Bench, oh lord, is going to take forever. It’ll get there eventually, but it’s going to be a while. I’ve hovered around 100 forever.

These is very good goals since I didn’t chime in before. I likes them. I steals them.
Bench… meh… I bench with DBs and JUST moved up to the 45’s for working sets. Uh, that is like fifty pounds less than my BW lol. Squats… 115 for my working sets have NO CLUE what that translates to for 1RM. DL well I can’t DL for awhile strained a muscle but was working 185 so at least over my BW LOL. I guess keep plugging along and I bet I am close to all those goals in like six months. I will be happy with my squat when I get the big wheels on… I also am pretty sure 135 is about my basement BW so that’ll work!

Like you don’t occasionally go superfast on that. For all your ‘I’m an old man’ talk, I bet you have those days where you’re a 16 year old. Driving fast and thinking about the wimminz.
Nope, I worked ER for 14 years. I have seen everything except decapitation.
I never go over 70 and on my bike I have yet to get it over 70 on the highway.
JLo on the other hand is a demon behind the wheel. That is why I normally drive everywhere.
The more you talk about her, the more I like her. I think I’ll bop over to her log now. I’m glad you’ve got her to keep you young. I’m starting to see you on the porch yelling a kids to get off your lawn.

Hi Patch!
Asshole. I have had it over 70 but the pucker factor was just to much. The older you get the slower you go to enjoy life cause it is going to be over soon.
Mobility Stuff - so I timed it, it takes me about 30 min to get through it all, I may start doing it at home before my walk to the gym. I don’t know that there’s anything I’m willing to drop. If anything there’s stuff I want to add.
What I do:
Lx (lacrosse ball) feet
Lx calves
Knee to wall Ankle
Ballet toe stretch thing, it’s just a band around your foot and then you push into it
Foam roll quads
Samson Stretch
10 single leg glute bridges
Foam roll hamstrings
LX ball piriformis
Fire Hydrant and Reverse 10 ea side
The dropping knees to the side yoga thing
Foam roll back/lats
I usually lay on the roller for a bit here too, it feels good under the upper back
Anterior Band Pull aparts
T spine mobility circles (lay on your side make 360 arm circles)
Shoulder dislocates/ Hold one arm steady and down, circle other arm x10
The pec stretch thing with the bar (lunge hold onto both ends, push one end back)
Band pull aparts
Occasionally I’ll roll my arms, but I’m usually over the warm up by now.
Squats
BWx5 65x5 75x5 95x3x5
Eh, I did my working sets with 115 last week, so not happy about this. I was just having a lot of trouble keeping my back tight. Any suggestions on how to practice just that? Lots of lighter reps, keep doing what I’m doing? Up the weight?
Bench
45x5 65x5 80x3x5
I’ve finally figured out how to keep my back tight the whole time. I was excited about that, it’s been an issue. Now I need to figure out how my legs are supposed to help my bench.
DL
Yeah grip still shot, I had trouble just holding 135, so I took the vid for one and left them for the next day.
Patch, that is a fuck ton of mobility work. Mine takes 10-15 minutes (depending on what I’m mobilising) and that feels like a long time. Perhaps because I used to just go to the gym and get stuck right in.
Deadlift looked good to me - I physically can’t get that low, my hips won’t let me.

Hey, I seez you, you posted while I was typing up mah stuffs. It snuck in there.
I need to work on my butt staying with the rest of my body. I didn’t realize it wasn’t, but it clearly goes up first. Will work on and fix, thanks Mimsy.

It’s a lot, but it really helps keeps the DOMs down, and feels so good. I creak a lot if I don’t. BJJ isn’t very nice to a body, and at the time I didn’t realize ignoring things that hurt isn’t the best of ideas. I guess I’ve swung the pendulum the other way now.
With my feet closer I can’t get lower, but wide I’m good with it.
Ok, peeps, not ignoring anyone, but going to do some works. I be back laterz.

Patch, your sumo form wasn’t horrendous or anything, you just brought dat ass up first, no biggie. Watch the vid as you bring the bar back down to the ground. See how everything stays tight and straight? That’s how the lift should look. Exactly like that.

This tidbit actually helped a lot last night, thanks Joyce!
last session looked good
your sumo pull was ok too- but peeps is right dat ass rose up first
I like your calves.
your moblity work isn’t too much just organize it better
I lx/pvc ball roll first-
do all the stuffs laying down
then
all the stuff standing
I saw you ask what the LYTP and scap pushup are in my log
they are in the mobility thread.
I can link in my log…
I picked the order based on the corrective complex article, you don’t think mixing up the order makes a difference? I guess I could roll it all, then stretch it all then activate.
Checked out your log for the infos. Yeah, I’ve been doing that stuffs slightly incorrectly.
I’ve got monster calves. I think it’s from the all day high heel based isometric holds. Ah shoes, I luvs them.
Someone stole mah shit! I put my band and lx ball down to go treadmill for 10 min and when I got back they were gone. I asked everyone if they had seen them and no one had. This ate up a while. So then 20 min on the stairmill fueled by rage.
PM
Yoga
Lately I’ve been thinking my instructor has been adding on a few pounds, but yesterday she wore a tank top and it’s a baby bump. It’s really cool to see someone only slightly modify their training while pregnant.
Class went well. I’m glad she’s back, those subs were killing me.
Then lifttng catch up
Sumo DLs
135x5 155x5 165x3x5
My grip still killed, but my brother was with me and told me to suck it up. I think these are the times when having a buddy is vital. I also thought about staying tight, so whole body up at same time and being angry/focused.
Then I tried to just hang out in a nice relaxed squat for 10min (based on Alexus’ log) and OMFG! I couldn’t do it. I had to split it up and go walk a lap every 2-3 min. Why is that so hard?
